Gitam Admission Test 2020 Eligibility criteria

Gitam Admission Test (GAT) is a computer based online test conducted for admission to UG and PG Technolgy and Pharmacy Programs in GITAM University at its Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru Campuses

GITAM University, established u/s 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, is one of India is premier universities having 34 years of track record in teaching and research of global standards; the University is located in three picturesque campuses at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Eligibility criteria for Gitam Admission Test 2020

  • GAT (UGTP) 2020 - The GAT (UGTP)-2020 (Online Admission Test) is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Programs offered at Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam Campuses
  • B.Tech Programs - Pass in Intermediate or 10+2 examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (50% aggregate marks for B.Arch./B.Pharm.) in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry and First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination from a recognized Central / State Board or its equivalent either in 2020 or 2018 and Rank obtained in GAT(UGTP)-2020
  • Candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. program should qualify in NATA / JEE (Main) paper-2
  • Candidates with Mathematics/Biology, Physics & Chemistry subjects are eligible for B.Tech Biotechnology (60% aggregate marks in group and First Class/equivalent grade) and B. Pharmacy
  • M.Tech Programs GAT (PGT) - 2020: GAT (PGT)-2020 (Online Admission Test) is conducted for admission to the following M.Tech Programs offered at Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam Campuses
  • Visakhapatnam Campus: Software Engineering (SE); Information Technology (IT); RF & Microwave Engineering (RF & ME); Embedded Systems (EBD); Digital Systems & Signal Processing (DSSP); Electronic Instrumentation (EI); Structural Eng. & Natural Disaster Management (SENDM); Machine Design (MD); CAD/CAM; Industrial Engineering & Management (IEM); Biotechnology; Food Processing Technology (FPT)
  • Hyderabad Campus: Computer Science and Technology (CST); VLSI Design; Power Systems and Automation (PSA)
  • Eligibility Criteria: Pass in the qualifying examination from recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade and score obtained in GAT (PGT) 2020 as specified below:

 

Qualifying Examination for GAT 2020 Test

  1. Computer Science Engg (CST): B.E./B.Tech / AMIE in any branch of Engineering or its equivalent; (SE): B.E./B.Tech/AMIE in CSE/IT/ECE/EEE/EI/CSIT or its equivalent
  2. Information Tech (IT): B.E./B.Tech/AMIE in any branch of Engineering or its equivalent
  3. Electronics & Comm. Engg (RF and ME): B.E./B/Tech/AMIE in ECE or its equivalent; (VLSI Design): B.E./B.Tech./AMIE in ECE/EEE/EIE/Instrumentation/CSE/IT or its equivalent; (DSSP): B.E./B.Tech/ AMIE in ECE/EEE/EIE/CSE/IT or its equivalent
  4. Electronics & Instrumentation Engg (EBS): B.E./B.Tech/AMIE in ECE /EEE /EIE /Instrumentation/CSE/IT or its equivalent; (EI): B.E./B.Tech./AMIE in ECE/EEE/EIE/ Instrumentation or its equivalent
  5. Civil Engineering (SE & NDM): B.E./B.Tech/AMIE in Civil Engineering or its equivalent
  6. Electrical & Electronics Engg (PS&A): B.E./B.Tech/AMIE in EEE or its equivalent
  7. Mechanical Engg (MD): B.E./B.Tech/AMIE in Mechanical/Production /Automobile /Marine /Aerospace or its equivalent; (CAD/CAM): B.E./B.Tech/AMIE in Mechanical/Production /Automobile /Marine/Aerospace or its equivalent
  8. Industrial Engg (IE&M): Any Engineering Degree or its equivalent
  9. Biotechnology: B.Tech in Biotechnology or B.Pharm or equivalent or B.Tech Chemical Engineering or M.Sc.in Chemistry/Microbiology/Bioinformatics/Biotechnology) with proficiency in basic Biology with proficiency in basic Mathematics
  10. FPT: B.Tech. Bio-Technology/Food Technology/Chemical Engineering/B.Pharmacy and MSC in Chemistry/Food Science with Proficiency in Basic Biology and Biotechnology or MSC in any area of Biological Science with Proficiency in Basic Mathematics

 

Admission Test GAT (PGT)-2020

  1. The duration of the test is 2 hours. The test consists of three sections
  2. Section-A: Numerical Data Analysis/Quantitative Analysis 40 (no of questions); 160 (marks)
  3. Section-B: Reasoning and Intelligence 30 (no of questions); 120 (marks)
  4. Section-C: Verbal Ability 30 (no of questions); 120 (marks)
  5. Total: 100 (no of question); 400 (marks)

 

Note

  1. All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions) each question has four options out of which one correct answer is. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks. 1 mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer. The unanswered questions will receive nil marks
  2. GATE qualified candidates are exempted from appearing for GAT (PGT) - 2020, however they need to apply to GITAM University for admission before the last date and the candidate has to attend counselling as per the schedule

M.Pharmacy Programs GAT (PGP) - 2020

  1. The GAT (PGP) - 2020 (Online Admission Test) is conducted for admission to the following M.Pharmacy Programmes offered at Visakhapatnam Campus
  2. M.Pharmacy Program in (01) Pharmaceutics; (02) Pharmacology; (03) Pharmaceutical Analysis & Quality Assurance; (04) Pharmaceutical Chemistry
  3. Eligibility Criteria: Pass in B.Pharmacy from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade and Score obtained in GAT (PGP) - 2020
  4. Section-A: Pharmaceutics: 25 (no of questions); 100 (marks)
  5. Section-B: Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance 25 (no of questions); 100 (marks)
  6. Section-C: Pharmacology 25 (no of questions); 100 (marks)
  7. Section-D: Pharmaceutical Chemistry 25 (no of questions); 100 (marks)
  8. Total: 100 no of questions; 400 (marks)
