BCECE (LE) 2024 – Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) is conducting Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (Lateral Entry) 2024 for admission to lateral entry to Second Year of Undergraduate Engineering, Para-Medical and Pharmacy Degree Course in Bihar.

Eligibility Criteria
- Before applying for the BCECE-LE 2024 exam, candidates must ensure that they fulfill the mentioned below criteria:
Residence :
- Only those applicants are eligible who are residents of India and whose parents are natives of Bihar. OR
- Whose parents are refugees registered in Bihar.OR
- Whose parents are residents of other states but are employees of Bihar. OR
- Whose parents are employees of the pre-reorganization Bihar government whose cadre has not been divided yet and whose post is still transferable to Bihar / Jharkhand state. OR
- Whose parents are employees of the Government of India posted in Bihar or employees of factories or institutions run by the Government of India (Public Sector Undertaking of Govt. of India) located in Bihar. OR
- Whose parents are employees of the United Nations and are currently posted in Bihar.
Physical:
- The applicants selected for admission will undergo medical examination. The applicant will be given admission only if found eligible in the examination. A separate fee will be charged for this examination.
For Engineering Course Groups
Academic Qualification :
- Passed Minimum THREE Years / TWO Years (Lateral & Entry) Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in any branch of Engineering and Technology. OR
- Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject. OR
- Passed B.Voc / 3 – Year D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.
- (The Universities will offer suitable bridge courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering drawing, etc. for the students coming from diverse backgraounds to achieve desired learning outcomes of the programme).
- Section III. Candidates appearing for Diploma examination may also apply but they must have passed the examination by the time of interview/counselling.
- A student having passed Diploma in any branch of Engineering may be admitted in any branch of Degree Engineering in 3rd Semester on the basis of merit and choice.
- A student having passed Diploma in Hotel Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture will be considered eligible for Hotel Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture branches respectively.
Age Limit :
- There is no age limit for admission.
For Para Medical Degree Course Group:
Academic Qualification :
- Passing of two year Para Medical Diploma Course recognized by Government of Bihar Government of India for admission in Para Medical Degree Course on the basis of this competitive examination.
- Candidates appearing in the final examination of two year Para Medical Diploma Course can also apply; however, it is essential to pass the examination by the time of interview/counselling.
- Candidates will be considered eligible for admission in the second year of higher para medical degree course related to the same course/syllabus in which they have passed the two year Para Medical Diploma examination.
- If the higher para medical degree course of the course/syllabus in which the candidate has passed the Para Medical Degree Course is not available, such candidates will not be considered eligible to appear in this lateral entrance examination.
Age Limit:
- For admission in the second year of Para Medical Degree Course, the minimum age should be 18 years on 31st December of the examination year.
For Pharmacy Degree Course Group:
Academic Qualification :
- For admission in the second year of Pharmacy Degree Course on the basis of this competitive examination, the candidate must have passed the two year Diploma in Pharmacy Course recognized by Bihar Government/PCI under Pharmacy Act 12.
- Candidates appearing in the final examination of the two year Diploma in Pharmacy Course can also apply; but it will be necessary to pass by the time of interview/counselling.
Age limit:
- For admission in the second year of Pharmacy Degree Course, the minimum age should be 18 years on 31st December of the examination year.

- Application form for BCECE Lateral Entry can be filled online through the official website. Read the eligibility condition and read the instruction carefully before filling the application form.

BCECE (LE) 2024 Exam Pattern
- BCECE LE 2024 examination will have to be given in one question paper separately for engineering and paramedical course groups.
- The Questions asked will be objective.
- Questions in the examination will be asked in English and their Hindi translation will be below it.
- Exam Offline mode.
Engineering Course Groups
- Engineering course group will have a total of three subject sections – (i) Mathematics, (ii) Engineering Mechanics and (iii) English.
- There will be 50 questions of four marks each in each section.
- One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- The subject section of the question paper, question number, integer marks and duration of the examination will be as follows :
- Mathematics (50 Questions) – 200 Marks
- Engineering Mechanics (50 Questions) – 200 Marks
- English (50 Questions) – 200 Marks
- Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
- Exam time : 2.00 PM to 4.15 PM
Paramedical Course Groups
- The Para Medical Course Group will have a total of three subject sections namely (i) Anatomy and Physiology, (ii) Pathology, Microbiology and Bio Chemistry and (ii) English.
- There will be 50 questions of four marks each in each section.
- One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- The subject section of the question paper, question number, integer marks and duration of the examination will be as follows :
- Anatomy and Physiology (50 Questions) – 200 Marks
- Pathology, Microbiology and Bio Chemistry (50 Questions) – 200 Marks
- English (50 Questions) – 200 Marks
- Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
- Exam time : 2.00 PM to 4.15 PM
Pharmacy Curriculum Group
- The Pharmacy Curriculum Group will have a total of three subject blocks namely (i) Pharmaceutics-1 + Other Subjects (Block-I), (ii) Pharmaceutics II – Other Subjects (Block -II), and (ii) English.
- There will be 50 questions of four marks each in each section.
- One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- The subject section of the question paper, question number, integer marks and duration of the examination will be as follows :
- Pharmaceutics-I, Pharmaceutical Chemistry-I, Pharmacognosy, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemistry and Clinical Pathology, Health Education and Community Pharmacy (50 Questions) – 200 Marks
- Pharmaceutics-II, Pharmaceutical Chemistry-II, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence, Drug Store and Business Management, Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy (50 Questions) – 200 Marks
- English (50 Questions) – 200 Marks
- Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
- Exam time : 2.00 PM to 4.15 PM
