What is GATE?

gate 2024

GATE is one of the most reputed exams in India. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level examination, conducted annually. GATE examination aims to evaluate students’ comprehensive knowledge of a range of undergraduate subjects in engineering and science.

Each year, one of the eight zonal institutes (IISc Bengaluru, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee) conducts the GATE examination.

GATE 2024 will be organised by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India .

The majority of students wrongly assume that GATE is only the entry point to postgraduate degree programs such as ME/M.Tech unaware that it opens many doors of opportunities in PSU, MNC, and other major sectors.
