He is also shown to be gullible, easily swayed by flattery, and lacks critical thinking skills. He imposes his decisions on the kingdom without considering the opinions or well-being of his subjects. He is more concerned with maintaining his image and power than with the welfare of the people. Despite his belief in his own intelligence,he falls prey to the deceptive tricks played by the charlatans.

The Minister is as foolish as the King. He supported the king in his weird decisions. He thinks that the rich merchant is too thin to be executed on the stake. He appeals to the king to rethink over his decision, thus, the king starts looking for such a person who will fit into the stake. He also agrees to the king’s proposition of both of them dying on the stake so that they are reborn as king and minister. Thus, they end up getting themselves killed on the stake.
