JEE Main 2016 Guidelines

Guidelines for JEE Main 2016 for computer based examination-

  • Before appearing for the exam you must check the Admit Card carefully for your name, paper, date of birth, gender, test center name, city, state code of eligibility and category. The Admit Card is issued provisionally to the candidate subject to his/her satisfying the eligibility conditions.
  • It is must for the candidates to reach the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the examination to complete the registration formalities in time as the registration desk gets closed five minutes before the examination.
  • The applicant ought to show the Admit Card on demand in the examination hall and if the applicant does not possess the card issued by the board he/she will not be permitted for the examination.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall, once the  examination begins, under any circumstances.
  • All the candidates should sit on the seats allotted to them as they will be provided with a seat indicating roll number. Any candidate found to have changed room or the seat on his/her own other than allotted, his/her candidature shall be cancelled and no plea would be accepted for it. Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as instructed by the Centre Superintendent/Invigilators.
  • Baggage will not be allowed inside the examination hall and if any candidate does so JEE Apex Board will not be responsible for any belongings stolen or lost from the premises.
  • The candidates are not allowed to carry any textual material like calculators,pen,slide rules, log tables, electronic watches, printed or written material, cell phone except the admit card and identity proof.
  • Eatables will not allowed to be taken inside the examination hall and smoking is strictly prohibited.
  • The candidates are also advised to carry a copy of document (as per the following table) and submit it to the invigilator at the examination hall.

JEE Mains 2016 Guidelines for pen and paper based examination-

  • Before appearing for the exam you must check the Admit Card carefully for your name, paper, date of birth, gender, test center name, city, state code of eligibility and category. The Admit Card is issued provisionally to the candidate subject to his/her satisfying the eligibility conditions.
  • The candidate should take their seats immediately after opening of the examination hall which will be opened 30 minutes before the beginning of the exam.
  • The applicant ought to show the Admit Card on demand in the examination hall and if the applicant does not possess the card issued by the board he/she will not be permitted for the examination.
  • The candidates are requested to bring their own geometry box set, pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons for the aptitude test in architecture.
  • Candidates are advised to bring with them a cardboard or a clip board on which nothing should be written, so that they have no difficulty in filling responses in the Answer Sheet even if the tables provided in the examination room/hall do have smooth surface. They should also bring with them their own Ball Point Pens (Black/Blue) of good quality.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after the beginning of the exam.
  • All the candidates should sit on the seats allotted to them as they will be provided with a seat indicating roll number. Any candidate found to have changed room or the seat on his/her own other than allotted, his/her candidature shall be cancelled and no plea would be accepted for it. 10 minutes before the commencement of the paper, each candidate will be given sealed Test Booklet with an Answer Sheet placed inside it.
  • The candidates will have to fill in the required particulars on the cover page of the test booklet with ball point pen only after receiving the booklet. The applicant will not open the Test Booklet until asked to do so by the Invigilator. Do not open/break the seal before the announcement.
