IITs Colleges Accepting JEE Advanced Score – List of JEE Advanced participating Institutes and Courses

Introduction

List of IITs Colleges Accepting JEE Advanced Scores – Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is the most prestigious entrance exam in order to get admission into several Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 prestigious engineering colleges in India. From 2015 onwards, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has been conducting this exam at lakhs of centres across the country and at selected centres in the foreign countries as well. The exam is held via online mode only. From 2019 onwards, it has been taking place twice a year.

Those students who crack this examination with required cut – off scores are granted admission into IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology) and other GFTI (Government Funded Technical Institutes). Each college has different criteria for the cut – off.

Those students who clear the required cut – off are granted admission into their desired Engineering, Science or Architecture stream.

The exam is divided into two parts:

  • JEE Mains: More than 10 lakh students appear for this exam every year. Except IITs and IISc (Indian Institute of Science) all other engineering colleges accept the Scorecard of this exam. A student can take this exam as many times he or she wants. There are two papers:
  • Paper I – for those who want to take admission in Engineering streams.
Paper 2 – for those who wish to take up Architecture courses. The duration of each paper is three hours.
  • JEE Advanced: Those students who qualify the cut – off for this exam after they take JEE Mains are eligible to appear in this exam. The exam is conducted by one of the IITs every time on the basis of round robin rotation method and is guided by Joint Admission Board (JAB). The exam has two papers and duration for each of them is three hours.
  • Paper 1 and Paper 2 both consist of questions from the subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Maths on the sectional basis. The exam is considered as one of the toughest entrance examinations with a success rate of less than 1 percent. Apart from the IITs, institutes such as IISc, IISER (Indian Institute of Science Education and Research), and RGIPT (Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology). It has to be noted that only two attempts are allowed for JEE Advanced exam.
