Eligibility Criteria
For M.Tech.(CSE)
- Both GATE and Non-GATE candidates with B.Tech./BE in CS/IT (& its allied areas) or MCA or M.Sc. in CS/IT with 65% marks are eligible to apply for admission.
- Additional Criteria for GATE candidates
- GATE score above the qualifying marks announced by GATE in the respective year i.e. 2021/2022/2024 will be considered valid. For CSE, “CS” GATE paper will be considered.
M.Tech. (ECE)
- Both GATE and Non-GATE candidates with B.Tech/BE in ECE/EE (& its allied areas) or MSc in Electronics (for ECE) with 65% marks are eligible to apply for admission.
- Relaxation : IIIT-Delhi provides relaxation to SC, ST, OBC, PwD and CW category candidates. Specifically, candidates under these categories must have 60% in their qualifying degree. Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be considered for admission.
- Additional Criteria for GATE candidates : GATE score above the qualifying marks announced by GATE in the respective year i.e. 2021/2023/2024 will be considered valid. For ECE, “EC/EE/IN” GATE paper will be considered.
For M.Tech. (CB)
- B.Tech/BE in CS/IT/Math-and-Computing or B.Tech/BE in any other discipline / MCA / MSc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics , Computer Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Biomedical sciences) / B.Pharm / MBBS / BDS
- For Point 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,7 the applicants must have done the following either during their qualifying degree or from recognized institution / online education portal:
- At least one computer programming course, and at least two Mathematics courses
- In addition all applicants must have 65% in the qualifying exam and a valid GATE score in any GATE paper which is relevant to the qualifying degree as mentioned above. The applicants must have at least 60% in all previous degrees including 10+2. Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be able to submit the application form.
- Relaxation: IIIT-Delhi provides relaxation to SC, ST, OBC, PWD and CW category candidates. Specifically, candidates under these categories must have 60%. They must have at least 55% in all previous degrees including 10+2. Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be able to submit the application form.
Application Process
- Eligible candidates can apply through the official website https://www.iiitd.ac.in & https://www.iiitd.ac.in/admission/mtech/2024
- A candidate will be eligible to apply for one category only i.e. GATE or Non-GATE. During the process of admission if a duplicacy is detected, then he/she will be considered in the category of GATE qualified applicant only.
Steps to Follow :
- Step 1 – Read the instructions carefully.
- Step 2 – Fill up the form online
- Step 3 – Pay the application processing fee of Rs.500/- (Additional Transaction Charges as Applicable) paid through Debit/Credit card, internet banking.

- The selection for M.Tech. admission will comprise of following processes:
M.Tech.(CSE)
- CSE (GATE) :

- A Merit list with Rank will be prepared on the basis of GATE score and qualifying degree percentage.
- Offer of admission will be made on the basis of rank.

- CSE (Non-GATE) :

- All candidates meeting the basic eligibility criteria will be invited for an offline entrance examination. The examination details are as under;
- There will be 40 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) with NO Negative Marking.

- Examination Timing: 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
- Venue of Examination: Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Delhi)
- Admit cards will be sent to the registered Email ID of the candidates.
M.Tech.(ECE)
- ECE (GATE) :

- A Merit list with Rank will be prepared on the basis of GATE score and qualifying degree percentage.
- Offer of admission will be made on the basis of rank and specialization preference given at the time of filling the application form.

- 1st Stage: Initial screening will be done on the basis of qualifying degree percentage. A limited number of applicants will be called to take part in the next stage.
- 2nd Stage: All the screened candidates will be invited for an online interview.
- A Merit list with Rank will be prepared on the basis of performance in Interview and qualifying degree percentage.
M.Tech. (CB)
- 1st Stage: Initial screening will be done on the basis of GATE Score and qualifying degree percentage. A limited number of applicants will be called to take part in the next stage.
- 2nd Stage: All the screened candidates will be invited for an online interview. (Information regarding the process of interview will be sent to the registered Email ID of the candidates)
- A Merit list with Rank will be prepared on the basis of performance in Interview, GATE Score and qualifying degree percentage.
- Offer of admission will be made on the basis of Rank.
