CBSE announces JEE Main 2017 Exam Dates

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come out with a notification on Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2017 for admission to Undergraduate Courses

The Notification Says -

Name of the Examination shall be Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)

JEE shall be held in two parts JEE (MAIN) and JEE (Advanced)

All Candidates will take JEE Main . JEE (Main) will be the gateway for JEE (Advanced)

a) Offline Examination (Pen and Paper Based Exam)

Paper I (B.E/B.Tech) [Offline Exam]: 02nd April 2017

Paper II (B.Arch/B.Planning) [Offline Exam]: 02nd April 2017

b) Online Examination (Computer Based Exam) for Paper - 1 (B.E/B.Tech) only

Paper-1 (B.E./B.Tech): During 08th April 2017 & 9th April 2017, timings: 1st shift 09.30 - 12.00 Hours (IST); 2nd shift (*) 1400 - 1700 Hours (IST); duration - 3 Hours (if required)

Those who finished Class 12 in 2013 or 2016 will also be eligible to appear for next year’s exam, in addition to the 2016 batch. The document also clarifies that students will be able to improve their Class 12 board exam performance, since these marks will also carry weightage from next year. Three attempts to clear the JEE Main exam

Only the top 150,000 candidates (including all categories as per reservation policy) based on performance in JEE (Main), will qualify to appear in the JEE (Advanced) examination.

JEE (Main)-2017 Detailed Notification: 18th November 2016

The Online Application Process will start from 01st December 2016 onwards

Last Date for Online Submission of Applications: 02nd January 2017

Paper I (B.E/B.Tech) [Offline Exam]: 02nd April 2017

Paper I (B.E/B.Tech) [Online Exam]: 08th & 09th April 2017

Paper II (B.Arch/B.Planning) [Offline Exam]:  02nd April 2017

Paper-1: Objective type questions with equal weightage to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics based on Common Core Syllabus

Paper-2: Objective type questions for Mathematics and Aptitude Test and Question to test drawing aptitude for Drawing Test
