Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) announces Design Aptitude Test iDAT 2020

Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD), New Delhi invites applications for admission to UG PG Program for the academic session 2020 through Design Aptitude Test IDAT 2020. It is a University level test which comprises of two rounds – iDAT / studio simulation and iMAT / personal interview. The entrance exam is conducted for admission to various UG and PG programs in Fashion Design, Communication Design and Interior Architecture & Design, Fashion Business Management.

Eligibility Criteria for IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT) 2020

For UG Programmes

Candidates who have passed their Class XII Examination (or equivalent) in any stream (Science, Commerce, Humanities or Arts) are considered eligible to apply.

Those who are appearing for their Class XII Examination in the current academic year or are awaiting their results may also apply.

For PG Programmes

Candidates who have passed their Undergraduate Examination (or equivalent) in any discipline from a recognised Institute or University may apply.

Those who are appearing for it in the current academic year or are awaiting their results may also apply.

 

Selection Process

Selection of candidates in IIAD 2020 is based on two rounds conducted by the Institution which are as follows:

2.

Personal Interview / Portfolio Assessment

For Fashion Design, Communication Design and Interior Architecture & Design Applicants


IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT)

 
Part A - Written Test

IIAD’s Design Aptitude Test (written) tests the applicants’ logical reasoning, creative thinking and visual aptitude.

This is a written exam of 2 hours 30 mins.

Part B – Studio Simulation

It is a personal interaction session conducted in a studio simulated environment to understand a candidate’s interest in the discipline.

 

For Fashion Business Management Applicants


iMAT – IIAD Management Aptitude Test

Part A – Written Test

IIAD’s Management Aptitude Test (iMAT) tests the applicants’ language, logical reasoning and analytical thinking.

This is a written exam of 2 hours.

Part B – Personal Interview

Those who appear for iMAT will have to appear for personal interview at IIAD campus in New Delhi.

 

IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT) 2020 Application Process

Online Application

Candidates who wish to apply to the undergraduate programmes can submit their Application Form along with necessary documents by registering themselves at IIAD’s Online Application Portal www.applytoiiad.com.

Offline Application

Alternatively, interested candidates can visit the Campus, collect the Application Form and submit it along with necessary documents to the IIAD Admissions Office.

 

Application Fee


An Application Fee of INR 2,000 must be paid at the time of submission of the Application Form.

On successful completion of the Application Form candidates shall receive an acknowledgement email from the Admissions Team with relevant information.
