Central Institute of Technology (CIT) announces B.Tech / B.tech Lateral Entry Admissions 2019

CIT Kokrajhar B.Tech Admission 2019 - Central Institute of Technology (CIT) Kokrajhar invites application for the admission to four years B.Tech Program of study as Direct Entry and B.Tech Lateral Entry (admission into the third semester of B.Tech Program) in different branches of engineering for the academic session 2019 through the CIT Degree Entrance Examination (CITDEE 2019) and CIT Lateral Entry Examination CITLET 2019.

CIT Kokrajhar

  • CIT Kokrajhar is a 'Deemed to be University' under Denovo category vide Notification No. F.9-1/2016-U3 (A), Dated December 13, 2018. And the Institute is under the HRD Govt. of India.
  • It was established as an outcome of the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) on Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) signed between the Assam Government, the Union Govt. and the Bodo Liberation Tigers, on February 10, 2003, in New Delhi.

  • Opening of Online Admission Portal: 19th March 2019
  • Last Date of Application Submission (Online/Offline): 30th April 2019

Branch & Intake Capacity

B.Tech. Program

  • The following are the branches and intake capacity for admission to first year (first semester) of Diploma Course in the Institute.
  • Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) - 45 seats
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) - 45 seats
  • Instrumentation Engineering (IE) - 45 seats
  • Food Engineering & Technology (FET) - 45 seats
  • Civil Engineering – (CE) 45 seats
  • Out of the total seats under Direct Entry Scheme of Degree Program 82 seats are offered to candidates belonging to BTAD & NE regions who have appeared JEE (Main)-2019 and have qualifying marks above the cut-off marks as decided by the Admission Committee of CIT Kokrajhar.
  • For candidates belonging to All India region (outside BTAD and NE regions), total of 18 seats are available. However, the counselling for the 18 seats would be done through JoSSA-2019.
  • The remaining 150 seats are filled through Central Institute of Technology Degree Entrance Examination (CITDEE-2019) based on the reservation policy of CIT, Kokrajhar

B.Tech Lateral Entry

  • CIT offers direct admission to second year (third semester) of Degree Course through Lateral and Vertical Entry scheme for diploma holder students. The details about the intake capacity are given below:
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) - 21 Seats
  • Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) - 29 Seats
  • Instrumentation Engineering (IE) – 21 Seats
  • Food Engineering and Technology (FET) – 21 Seats
  • Civil Engineering (CE) – 21 Seats

Eligibility Criteria for CIT Kokrajhar B.Tech Admission 2019

Educational Qualification - B.Tech. Program

  • Direct Entry: 10+2 (Science) with 45% marks in aggregate and 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together for GEN/OBC candidates (relaxed upto 5% for ST/SC/PWD candidates).
  • Vertical Entry: Diploma in the concerned branch of Engineering/Technology from CIT with 65% marks for GEN/OBC (relaxed upto 5% for SC/ST/PWD)
  • Lateral Entry (CITLET): Diploma in AICTE recognized related branch of Engineering/Technology with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA for GEN/OBC (relaxed upto5% for SC/ST/PWD) or B.Sc. (with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects) with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA for GEN/OBC (relaxed upto 5% for SC/ST/PWD).

Age Limit

  • Direct Entry: Candidates must not be above 21 years, or below 17 years of age as on 01-08-2019. The upper age limit is relaxed to 3 years for Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe candidates.
  • Lateral Entry: 40 years (45 years for SC/ST/PWD and 43 years for OBC and female candidates) as on 01-08-2019.

 

Selection Procedure

B. Tech. (Direct)

  • A candidate may be admitted into the first semester of B. Tech. program of CIT in two ways.
  • The candidate has to clear the CITDEE-2019 entrance examination followed by counseling at CIT, Kokrajhar. The second way is by applying and appearing in JEE (Main)-2019 conducted by CBSE, New Delhi
  • The JEE Main 2019 candidates should separately apply to CIT, Kokrajhar and submit the JEE (Main) score cards to the Member Secretary, Admission Committee, within ten days of the declaration of the JEE (Main) results.
  • A separate selected list will be prepared for JEE (Main) qualified candidates depending on the cutoff marks decided by the Admission Committee of the Institute.
  • Candidates appearing for CITDEE-2019 may also submit their JEE (Main) scores to the Member Secretary, Admission Committee, CIT, mentioning CITDEE-2019 Roll No/Application No. for consideration of their candidature for selection under the JEE (Main) qualified list.
  • Out of the total seats, 60% of seats shall be filled up by the candidates qualified by CITDEE-2019 and remaining 40% of seats shall be filled up by the candidates through JEE (Main) 2019 conducted by CBSE, New Delhi.

B. Tech. (Vertical/Lateral):

  • Candidates who have passed from CIT in the current year having requisite qualifying marks should submit their application and would be admitted without any entrance examinations.
  • Those candidates who have passed from CIT and did not get the qualifying marks for Vertical Entry and has qualifying marks for Lateral Entry should apply and appear in the CITLET-2019
  • Candidates who have passed Diploma from other AICTE/UGC recognized institutions have to apply and appear in CITLET-2019 for consideration of their candidature for admission into the third semester (second year) of B. Tech. program under the Lateral Entry scheme,

Reservation Policy

  • In filling up of the available seats, the institute shall follow the following reservation policy
  • 60% from BTAD (60% ST, 5% SC, 15% OBC and 20% General)
  • 20% from North-East region excluding BTAD
  • 17% from All India excluding North-East Region
  • 03%for physically handicapped candidates irrespective of region

Entrance Exam Pattern

CITDEE

  • The Entrance Examination is conducted in three hours of duration with a total of 125 marks
  • The question paper consists of f0ur (4) sections of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English
  • Twenty five questions are set from each section carrying one mark each with the exception of Mathematics from which fifty questions are set
  • The questions are of multiple choices with four options of answers

 

CITLET

  • The Entrance Examination is conducted in two and a half hours of duration with a total of 100 marks
  • The question paper consists of two papers with the first being a Common paper of 60 marks that consists of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Graphics, Computer Awareness and English
  • The second paper of 40 marks is the branch paper into which the candidate desires to apply
  • The questions are of multiple choices with four options of answers
  • Note: Students of CIT Kokrajhar of the current batch are exempted from appearing in the entrance test provided they have secured 65% marks or equivalent CGPA for GE/OBC (relaxed upto 5% for SC/ST/PH) in the concerned branch of Engineering/Technology. Their admissions are through Vertical Entry Scheme

  • Centres of Entrance Exam
  • The Entrance Examination is usually conducted in five different centres at Kokrajhar, Guwahati, Udalguri, Barama and Kajalgaon.
  • CITLET will be conducted only at Kokrajhar

 

CIT Kokrajhar B.Tech Admission 2019 Application Form

  • CIT Entrance Examination-2019 shall be conducted in two sessions on the same day. In the morning session entrance exam would be for CITDEE (B.Tech. Direct) and CITLET (B.Tech Lateral) and in the afternoon session entrance examination would be for CITEE (Diploma) and CITBDAT (B. Des.).
  • Hence, an eligible candidate applying for CITDEE can also apply for CITBDAT or CITEE.

 

Offline Mode

  • The application form should be properly filled in original and submitted to ‘The Member Secretary, Admission Committee, CIT, Kokrajhar, BTAD, ASSAM-783370”, by registered/speed/general post on or before 30th April 2019
  • However, the duly filled application form may also be submitted to the Admission Cell, CIT, Kokrajhar by hand on or before the last date.
  • Application forms received or submitted after the last date shall be rejected. Application form can be obtained from the selling centres by paying Rs 1200/- (Rupees one thousand only) for GEN/OBC candidates and Rs 600/- (Rupees five hundred only) for SC/ST/PWD.

Online Mode

  • For Online Mode, candidates may fill the application form through our online portal by visiting the website www.cit.ac.in. Candidates need to print and send a hard copy of the online application form to “THE MEMBER SECRETARY, ADMISSION COMMITTEE, CIT, KOKRAJHAR, BTAD, ASSAM-783370”, by registered/speed/general post on or before 30th April 2019
  • The form should accompany with the entrance examination fees Rs 1200/- (Rupees one thousand only) for GEN/OBC candidates and Rs 600/- (Rupees five hundred only) for SC/ST/PWD) receipt paid through SBI, E-Collect.

Application Fee

  • For GEN/ OBC Candidates: Rs.1200/-
  • Entry Scheme between 1 and 10 for GEN/ OBC Candidates: Rs 1800/-
  • For SC/ ST/ PWD Candidates: Rs.600/-
  • Entry Scheme between 1 and 10 for SC/ ST/ PWD Candidates: Rs 900/-

Admit Card

  • The admit card shall be issued online by the institute in the first week of May 2019
  • The admit card can be downloaded from the CIT admission website by entering the application form no. & the registered mobile number.
