DTE Kerala announces B.Tech Lateral Entry Entrance Exam (LET) 2019 for Admission

DTE Kerala LET 2019 – Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Kerala conducts Entrance Examination to admission in B.Tech Lateral Entry for the academic year 2019-20.

This Entrance Exam also known as B.Tech Lateral Entry Entrance Exam and DTE Kerala LET 2019

Lateral Entry Scheme is intended to admit meritorious Diploma holders to the Second Year/Third Semester of the B.Tech Courses to acquire a Degree in Engg

Lateral Entry Scheme is approved by Govt. of Kerala as per for 10% of the sanctioned seats in addition to total seats. AICTE has suggested a state level Entrance Exam for the selection

DTE Kerala LET 2019 Important Dates

  • Online Registration: 29th March 2019 to 16th April 2019 (5.00 pm)
  • Last Date of Receipt of Downloaded Application in the JCT Exam Office TVM: 26th April 2019 (05.00 PM)
  • Downloading of Hall Tickets from the Website: 10th June to 14th June 2019
  • Date of Examination: 15th June 2019
  • Publication of Result: 26th June 2019
  • Downloading Score Cards from the Website: 27th June to 30th July 2019
  • Online Filing of Options: 27th June to 03rd July 2019
  • 1st Allotment: 08th July 2019
  • Admission (1st allotment): 10th to 11th July 2019
  • Rearranging Higher Options: 17th to 18th July 2019 (05.00 PM)
  • 2nd Allotment: 22nd July 2019
  • Admission (2nd allotment): 24th & 25th July 2019

Eligibility Criteria for DTE Kerala B.Tech Lateral Entry Admission 2019

  • The admission will be subject to regulations of the Universities concerned. Maximum age as on the last date of submission of application will be 30 years
  • Non-Keralites are also eligible to apply but their admission will be restricted to the private self-financing institutions and non-govt. seats in the govt. controlled self-financing institutions
  • For Writing the Entrance Test: Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering/Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Kerala or Equivalent after undergoing regular course of 3 years in an approved institution are eligible
  • All candidates should produce a certificate showing the duration of the course and the details of the certificate issuing authority properly authenticated by the head of institution concerned, in the space provided in the body of the application form
  • Those who are appearing for the final year Diploma Exam are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that they will produce the Qualifying Certificate (Original or Provisional) at the time of admission

 

Reservation of Seats

  • All seats under Lateral Entry scheme in Govt. Engineering Colleges will be allotted as Govt. Seats
  • The availability of Govt. seats in Govt. Controlled & other Private Self-Financing Engg Colleges will be announce before the ensuing online admission
  • For 15% of seats under Lateral Entry are reserved as Mgt. seats in Aided Engg Colleges & remaining 85% will be allotted as Govt. seats
  • Communal reservation for candidate belonging to SEBC & SC/ST category will be followed as per usual norms 5.5 3% seats are physically disabled candidates
  • Reservation under physically disabled quota shall have a minimum of 40% disability
  • For claiming reservation in this quota, the certificate obtained in the prescribed format provided in the body of the application form
  • For 5.7 80% of the available seats in IT branch are reserved for the Diploma Holders in IT

 

DTE Kerala LET 2019 Exam Pattern

  • A State level OMR based objective type Entrance Test for duration of 2 hours will be conducted by the Joint Controller of Technical Exams, Kaimanam, Thiruvananthapuram for the selection
  • The Entrance Test will be on selected subjects of first year B.Tech course and English language as per the scheme and syllabus approved by Govt.

  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics & Communication Engineering
  • 3 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer

  • Exam Centers will be at Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Thodupuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Tirur, Malappuram, Sulthan Bathery, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod

DTE Kerala LET 2019 Application Process

  • Application Forms and Prospectus are available in the websites www.dtekerala.gov.in or www.tekerala.org
  • Application Fee is Rs.750/- for General and Rs.375/- for SC/ST candidates, which can be paid in Shakti Account of the Joint Controller of Technical Exam from any branch of State Bank of Travancore
  • ST candidates whose annual income is below Rs 40,000/- are exempted from paying application fee on condition that they produce income certificate for the same

Submission of Application

  • Applications are to be submitted online and the downloaded application form duly filled up along with the relevant certificates and Shakti Challan form should reach the Joint Controller of Technical Examinations, Kaimanam, Thiruvananthapuram-695040 by registered post/or in person

Fee Structure

  • Fee for the various courses in Govt/ aided/ Govt controlled/ self financing Colleges will be as fixed by the Government from time to time. Students will be liable to pay the fees and all other charges as per statutes. Fees structure of various courses in Government/aided Engineering (merit seats) colleges are given in annexure J of the prospectus.
