KEA DCET 2020 for Diploma Lateral Entry Admission - Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) announces Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) 2020 for admission to 2nd Year Engineering Courses and for first-year Architecture Course under Lateral Entry Scheme for both Day and Evening Engineering Colleges in Karnataka for the academic year 2020-21

About Karnataka DCET 2020

  • Karnataka Examinations Authority to conduct Common Entrance Test for admission to 2nd Year / 3rd Semester Engineering Courses and for first-year Architecture courses under Lateral Entry Scheme for both Day and Evening Colleges.
  • Online applications are invited from eligible Diploma Holders for admission to 2nd Year / 3rd Semester Engineering Courses and for first year Architecture courses under Lateral Entry Scheme for both Day and Evening Colleges.
  • Candidates have to appear for the Diploma Common Entrance Test-2020 conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority to become eligible for admission to these courses
  • The candidates seeking admission only to B. Arch course need not have to appear for a Diploma Common Entrance Test-2020 conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority. But, they need to have a valid NATA score to become eligible for admission to First year/First Semester B. Arch courses and should apply for DCET-2020.

Eligibility Criteria for KEA DCET 2020

Course

Educational Qualifications

For B.E Courses (Day Engineering College)

Passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to B.E courses, and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.

For B.E Courses (Evening Engineering College)

Passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to B.E. courses, and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.

In addition to this a candidate after passing the diploma, must have a minimum of Two Years Full Time Work experience as on 1st September, 2020, of the year of admission.

For B. Arch Course (Only in Day Engineering College)

Passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to 1st year B. Architecture course, and 45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates along with 40% marks in National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture.

Note

The candidates who have obtained Diploma in Architecture are eligible only for Admission to 1st Year Architecture engineering course, provided they have valid NATA Score in NATA conducted by Council of Architecture. But, the candidates who have obtained Diploma in Architecture are not eligible for admission to 2nd year / 3rd Semester any other Engineering Courses.

KEA DCET 2020 Application Process

Eligible candidates can apply online only through official website https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/

Steps to follow:

Step 1

Enter all the details Online by browsing URL on website https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/ by selecting "DCET-2020". After completion of entry of all the details candidates will receive an application ID and Password to their registered email address and also the same information will be displayed on the screen

Step 2

Upload the scanned copy of recent passport size Colour Photo and Signature in JPEG format separately

Step 3

Take the printout of the Challan Copy, which is in Duplicate/Triplicate. Candidates have to pay an amount of Rs.650/- for General OBC (Rs.500/- for SC/ST Category-1 only for Karnataka candidates)

Step 4

Candidates have to take the printout of the application form on A-4 Size sheet of paper.

  • After the submission of the application form, the candidates can easily download the hall ticket from the official website of KEA. Karnataka DCET 2020 Admit Card is issued at https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/
  • The hall ticket can be downloaded by entering the login credentials such as application number and date of birth.
  • The admit card consists of the important information related to the exam such as date and time of the exam, address of the exam centre, general instructions etc.
