Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) notifies Diploma Lateral Entry Admission 2019

KEA DCET 2019 for Diploma Lateral Entry Admission - Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test 2019 (DCET‐2019) has directed Karnataka Examinations Authority to conduct Common Entrance Test for admission to 2nd Year Engineering Courses and for first year Architecture Course under Lateral Entry Scheme for both Day and Evening Engineering Colleges in Karnataka for the academic year 2019

Karnataka Diploma CET 2019 for Diploma Holders (DCET-2019)

  1. Karnataka Examinations Authority to conduct Common Entrance Test for admission to 2nd Year/3rd Semester Engineering Courses and for first year Architecture courses under Lateral Entry Scheme for both Day and Evening Colleges from the year 2012-13 in the state of Karnataka.
  2. Further, Government in its order ED 23 TPE 2018 Bangalore dated 03-04-2018 has directed KEA to conduct Diploma Common Entrance Test 2019 by adopting new syllabus (Outcome Based Education).
  3. Pursuant to the said notification, online applications are invited from eligible Diploma Holders for admission to 2nd Year/3rd Semester Engineering Courses and for first year Architecture courses under Lateral Entry Scheme for both Day and Evening Colleges.
  4. Candidates have to appear for the Diploma Common Entrance Test-2019 conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority to become eligible for admission to these courses. The candidates seeking admission only to B. Arch course need not have to appear for Diploma Common Entrance Test-2019 conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority. But, they need to have valid NATA score become eligible for admission to First year/First Semester B. Arch course.
  5. For admission to 2nd Year Engineering Courses and for first year Architecture Course under Lateral Entry Scheme for both Day and Evening Engineering Colleges

KEA DCET 2019 Important Dates

  1. Last Date to Enter Application details online Up to 5:30 pm on: 04th June 2019
  2. Last date to pay the fees in the bank (Banking Hours): 07th June 2019
  3. Downloading of Admission Tickets: 28th June 2019
  4. Entrance Examination: 7th July 2019

Eligibility Criteria for KEA DCET 2019

  1. For B.E Courses (Day Engineering College): A candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to B.E courses, and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.
  1. For B.E Courses (Evening Engineering College): A candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to B.E. courses, and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.
  2. In addition to this a candidate after passing the diploma, must have minimum of Two Years Full Time Work experience as on 1st September, 2019, of the year of admission, in a registered firm/Company/ Industry/Educational and/Government Autonomous Organizations in the branch of Engineering / Technology.
  3. For B. Arch Course (Only in Day Engineering College): A candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to 1st year B. Architecture course, and 45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates along with 40% marks in National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture.
  4. Important: The candidates who have obtained Diploma in Architecture are eligible only for Admission to 1st Year Architecture engineering course, provided if they have VALID NATA Score in NATA conducted by Council of Architecture. But, the candidates who have obtained Diploma in Architecture are not eligible for admission to 2nd year / 3rd Semester any other Engineering Courses.

Karnataka DCET 2019 Exam Pattern

  1. The Diploma CET 2019 will be held in one session, conducted for 180 marks with 3 hours (180 minutes) duration. Additional 25 minutes will be given for filling Name, Admission Ticket No. Version Code and Serial Number in the OMR Answer Sheet and Question Booklet.
  2. The question paper will be of (objective) multiple-choice type; the question paper will be in different versions. Each question will have for different options. Each question will carry 1 (one) mark.
  3. Duration of the Test: 3 Hours
  4. Subject
  5. Applied Mathematics - 40 (Common for all the Engineering group codes)
  6. Applied Science - 40 (Common for all the Engineering group codes)
  7. Engineering (All Courses) - 100 (Refer engineering subjects and corresponding group code in brochure)
  8. Total - 180 Objective type multiple choice questions.

Karnataka KEA DCET 2019 Application Procedure

  1. Candidates can apply for DCET-2019 Online for KEA Website http://kea.kar.nic.in.
  2. Online submission of Application Form may be made by accessing KEA Website http://kea.kar.nic.in
  3. Step 1: After completion of entry of all the details candidate’s will receive an application ID and Password to their registered email address and also the same information will be displayed on the screen.
  4. Step 2: Candidates have to upload the scanned copy of recent passport size Colour Photograph and Signature in JPG / JPEG format separately.
  5. Step 3: Candidates have to take the printout of the Challan copy which is in triplicate. Candidates of Karnataka origin have to pay an amount of Rs. 650/- for General and OBC (Rs.500/- for SC / ST Category-1).
  6. The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in any of the branch of specified banks. The bank will retain bank copy of the Challan respectively and handover the remaining two copies of the Challan to the candidates.
  7. Step 4: Candidates have to take the printout of the application form on A-4 Size sheet of paper. Affix candidate’s recent Passport size Photograph, signature, Left Hand Thumb Impression on the space provided. Afterwards students have to obtain Principal seal and signature from the college where they have studied Final Year Diploma on the space provided in the printed form.
