Bihar BCECE 2018 Notification - Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) is conducting the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) 2018. It is the common entrance test for admission to UG Engineering, Pharmacy, Health Science (except MBBS/BDS), as well as Agricultural Programs in Bihar

Online Registration Closing Date: 28th March 2018 (11:59 P.M.)

Bihar CECE Details

  • Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam is constituted by government of Bihar in accordance to competitive examination Act 1995
  • Bihar Engineering Board or Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECEB) presently conducts the competitive entrance examinations for the graduation level courses like; Engineering, Medical and Agriculture Streams available in the University, Colleges and Institutions of the State of Bihar as well as those situated outside Bihar against state quota seats.
  • The Board presently conducts Combined Competitive Entrance Examinations (BCECE) for admission in graduate level vocational courses in engineering streams available in the Universities, Colleges and Institutions of the State of Bihar as well as those situated outside Bihar against state quota seats.

Courses Offered

  • Engineering Courses, Pharmacy Courses, Medical Degree Courses
  • B.Tech/B.Sc. Courses in Engineering and Pharmacy courses are available in the Govt /Govt recognized Technical Institutions of Bihar and Technical Institutions outside Bihar (state quota)
  • Medical Stream in MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/B.Ph.T/B.Th.O in Government Colleges of Bihar and in other similar courses of this stream
  • Agriculture Stream is available in Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa
  • Degree Course Programs in which the candidate will study at the undergraduate level will depend on the choice of the subjects
  • The choice of engineering papers in the BCECE exam depends on the subject combination that a candidate has studied at qualifying level


Eligibility Criteria BCECE 2018

  • The Eligibility Criteria for BCECE Entrance Test which includes the Age limit for Admission in BCECE 2018, BCECE Admission Qualification as follows. The Following Group or Category of Courses list is the Eligibility for the Admission in BCECE.
  • Nationality: Candidate must have the Indian nationality.
  • Domicile Requirement: An applicant must be a local resident of Bihar

Educational Qualification

  • The details regarding the qualifying examination of engineering and pharmacy is given below:
  • Engineering Courses: Eligible candidates must qualify the Intermediate or equivalent from a recognized board. The qualifying exam must be passed with necessary subjects as Physics & Mathematics. The optional subjects which are also required are Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology and technical vocational subject. A candidate should qualify with minimum 45% marks for General and 40% for reserved categories.
  • Pharmacy Courses: The minimum qualification is 10+2 or equivalent to appear in the exam. The mandatory subjects which are required in the previous academic exam are Physics and Chemistry. Also, it is mandatory to choose one optional subject among these, i.e. Mathematics, Biology or technical vocational subject. Candidate must obtain 45% marks for General candidates in qualifying exam and 40% for SC/ST candidates.

Age Limit

  • For Engineering/Pharmacy/Architecture: No minimum age limit
  • For Health Science: The candidate must complete 17 years of age as on 31st December 2018
  • For Agriculture: The candidate must complete 16 years of age as on 31st August 2018


  • The candidate must have passed necessary subjects as per his/her subject group such as - Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, and Technical vocational subject
  • Final Year Appearing Candidates: Candidates in their final year of the qualifying examination can also apply provided that they pass the qualifying exam by the time of counselling beings


  • The reservation details for the candidates are given below.
  • SC (Scheduled Caste)-16%
  • ST (Scheduled Tribe)- 01%
  • EBC (Extremely Backward Class)- 18%
  • BC (Backward Class)- 12%
  • RCG (Reserved Category Girls) -03%
  • UR (General Category) – 50%

BCECE 2018 Exam Pattern

  • Candidates will have to appear for the exam to be conducted by BCECE. This year there will be only one stage of the exam which contains objective type questions. The candidate will appear for the exam according to his subject group:
  • PCM - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
  • PCB - Physics, Chemistry, Biology
  • PCMB - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology
  • CBA - Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture
  • Physics - 400 Minimum Marks; Duration: 1½ hours
  • Chemistry - 400 Minimum Marks; Duration: 1½ hours
  • Mathematics - 400 Minimum Marks; Duration: 1½ hours
  • Biology - 400 Minimum Marks; Duration: 1 ½ hours
  • Agriculture - 400 Minimum Marks; Duration: 1 ½ hours
  • There are sections in the paper – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Agricultural Science.
  • Each section paper is of 1.5 hours (90 minutes).
  • There are 100 questions in each subject.
  • Maximum Marks in each subject is 400.
  • The questions are MCQ type with +4 for each correct answer.
  • One mark deducted for every wrong answer.



  • Candidates can fill the application form in online mode only. Interested candidates can fill the BCECE application form 2018 from the official website of https://bceceboard.bihar.gov.in
  • Registration for BCECE has begun from 07th March 2018. It is a seven steps procedure which starts with filling the One Time Registration form, Paying the fees, filing Personal Information and finally Educational Information. After filling up the details, the candidates will have to click on “Submit” button

  • Amount Paid as per Last Year
  • Group[PCM/PCB/CBA/MBA/PCA/MCA] - for General, BC/OBC - Rs.1000/- and for SC/ST - Rs.500/-
  • Group[PCMB] for General, BC/OBC - Rs.1100/- and SC/ST - Rs.550/-

Mode of Payment
