IIT Kanpur PG Admission 2022 – Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur invites applications from Indian as well as foreign nationals for admission to PhD, MTech and MS (By Research) Programs for the academic session 2022-23 (II Semester) commencing from January 2023.

Eligibility Criteria
For PhD Program
- Master’s degree in the relevant subject or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (4-year programme) with marks/CPI not below the specified minimum.
- A valid GATE//CAT/GMAT/JRF/NET/CEED/ score
For Master of Technology (MTech)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (4-year programme) or a Master’s degree in Science with marks/CPI not below the specified minimum.
- A valid GATE score is required for admission to the MTech programme in the case of regular (non-sponsored) candidates. The requirement of GATE score is waived off for the candidates with the B Tech/BS (Four Year) degree from IITs with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in B Tech/BS (Four Year).
For MS (By Research)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (4-year programme) or a Master’s degree in Science with marks/CPI not below the specified minimum.
For MS (By Research) in Cybersecurity
- Applicants with B.Sc. (3-year) or equivalent with a minimum of 75%/7.5 marks/CPI may also be considered.
- A valid GATE/ CSIR/ JRF/ NET/ COGJET score is required for admission to the MS (Research) programme in the case of regular candidates (non-sponsored/non-project candidates). The requirement of GATE/ CSIR/ JRF/ NET/ COGJET score is waived for the B Tech/BS (Four Years) graduates from IITs with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in B Tech/BS (Four Year).

Online Mode
- The online applications portal https://www.iitk.ac.in/ (for Indian Nationals only) will be available from from Oct 26 (Wednesday) 2022, 4:00pm to Nov 11 (Friday) 2022, 4:00 pm
- Indian Nationals can apply only through online mode of application
Offline Mode
- Foreign Nationals can apply only through offline mode.
- Offline Application Form (for Foreign Nationals and for Indian Nationals with qualifying degree from Universities abroad) (common form for PhD, M.Tech and MS (By Research)) can be downloaded https://www.iitk.ac.in/doaa/pgadmission/important-links.php
- PhD applicants must arrange for two letters of reference as well. For this purpose, the names of the referees along with their email addresses are to be provided by the candidate at the online applications portal.
Application Fee
- For General, EWS, OBC and OBC-NCL candidates : Rs.500/-
- For SC/ST and all DAP candidates : Rs.250/-
- The application fee is waived for candidates in the ‘Foreign National’ category.
