Admission notice 2010-11

Minimum eligibility criteria: To be eligible for admission to the first year of any of the school of engineering undergraduate course of the university w.e.f. academic session 2010-11, a candidate must be an Indian National and must fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria

The applicant should have passed the 10+2 (English medium) examination conducted by CBSE or equivalent examination from a recognized board in Science stream with an overall aggregate of 60%. Additionally, the applicant should have secured not less than 60% marks in each of the subjects given hereunder; Mathematics, Physics, English (rounding of marks is not permitted. Therefore, a student with 59.9% marks or less than 60% will not be eligible to apply), a student from a university/board not recognized by CBSE/AICTE/UGC/AIU/ MHRD or any other statutory body of govt of India shall not be eligible for admission

In case a student has completed his/her equivalent examination from an overseas board, he/she shall necessarily have to obtain and submit along with his/her application a certificate of equivalence from the AIU (Association of Indian Universities). He/She will also have to appear and secure a rank in AIEEE 2010 (this condition of appearing in AIEEE 2010 is not applicable for students seeking admission under the category allocated for children/ wards of non-resident Indians and/or for Kashmiri Migrants)

Applicants under these two categories shall be admitted based on merit secured in class XII or equivalent

Age limit: The applicant must not be more than 21 years of age as on 31st December, 2010. The date of birth printed on the class X mark sheet issued by CBSE or equivalent board shall be considered for determining the age of the candidate. In case of student(s) who may have passed their equivalent examination from an overseas board, the age mentioned on his/her passport shall be considered

All India Engineering entrance test 2010 (AIEEE): The merit of the candidate for selection for admission will be decided by AIEEE Rank. The applicant must have appeared in AIEEE 2010 and secured a rank

Since the application cum processing fee is not refundable under any circumstances whatsoever, before submitting an application for admission, the applicant must ensure that he/she fulfills the minimum eligibility condition applicable to the category(s) under which admission is being sought by him/ her. He/she must only apply after he/ she has fully read and understood the admission policy and selection procedure including the refund/cancellation policy of the university for academic session 2010-2011. This will also be available on the university website www.itmindia.edu for the information of all concerned and/or can be obtained from the University

Admission notice: To fill seats to B.Tech courses in School of Engineering and Technology for academic session 2010-11, the University shall publish an admission notice inviting applications from interested candidates. The admission notice shall be published in at least two national dailies and/or their education supplements

A copy of the admission notice along with this admission policy and selection procedure-2010 shall be uploaded on the website of the university www.itmindia.edu for the information of all concerned not later than the date the first admission notice is published in the national dailies and/or their education supplements

Not less than fifteen days time from the date of the admission notice shall be given to interested candidates to submit their application and processing fee. If not provided in the admission notice, the admission notice shall clearly provide the website details from where the following information can be obtained; minimum eligibility conditions for applicants seeking admission with conditions, if any; the number of seats branch/ category wise to be filled; the annual fee to be paid by the students; the date, time and venue for the display of admission list and/or physical counseling, as the case may be; any other relevant issue of interest

How to apply: The application form can be downloaded from the website of the University www.itmindia.edu or can also be obtained from the University campus upto the last date for submission of forms specified in the admission notice

Students seeking admission must apply on the prescribed application form only on or before the last date specified in the admission notice. Applications on plain paper shall not be accepted. The application for admission should be submitted with (i) the school or college leaving certificate signed by the Head of the Institution last attended by the student, (ii) true copy of the statement of marks showing that the applicant has passed the qualifying examination, and in the case of a student who passed the examination as private candidate, a certificate signed by two responsible person certifying to the good character of the applicant. If an applicant for admission, as aforesaid, has passed the qualifying examination from a board other than the board of secondary education, Haryana, or a University other than this University, he shall submit in addition to the school or college leaving certificate an eligibility or a Migration certificate from the Secretary or Registrar of such Board or the University, as the case may be together with migration fee as decided by the university from time to time (iii) copy of AIEEE 2010 admit card and result card (iv) Date of birth certificate and other documents as specified in the application form. All documents must be self attested by the student. Unsigned/ incomplete application forms and/or applications submitted without the processing fee/ required enclosures shall be invalidated. Students are cautioned to fill their preferences in the application form only after due consideration. Once the application form has been submitted, no change in preference will be permitted under any circumstances whatsoever. However, they must fill all the choices in their order of preference. If they are not interested in a discipline they will put ‘X’. No preference should be left blank. It is made expressly clear that admissions shall be made strictly on merit only from amongst candidates who have applied in the prescribed form within the stipulated time limit prescribed in the admission notice published by the University and have deposited the processing fee and whose application has not been invalidated due to any shortcoming. Applications which are incomplete and not in the prescribed form and not accompanied with the copies of documents shall be rejected. NRI students should apply on a separate application form provided for such candidates available on the University website www.itmindia.edu

Processing fee: A processing fee of Rs.1000/- (Rs one thousand only) must be submitted with the duly completed application form in respect of resident India students and Rs 10,000/- in respect of children/ward of non resident Indian. The processing fee can be paid in cash or by demand draft only. (cheque will not be accepted under any circumstances). Drafts must be made in favour of the ITM University and must be payable at Gurgaon/Delhi only. The processing fee is non-refundable under any circumstances whatsoever. Therefore, students are advised to submit their applications only after due consideration of this fact.

Last date for receipt of application forms: Duly completed application forms on the prescribed form only should be submitted by eligible candidates at the University, Sector 23-A, Gurgaon on or before 19.6.2010 along with the processing fee and the self attested photocopies of relevant enclosures required

Postal applications will also be accepted if accompanied with the processing fee and postmarked on or before 19.06.2010

To avoid any confusion in preparing the merit list, in any case, no postal applications will be accepted if received after 28.6.2010 even if postmarked on or before 19.6.2010

Application forms with processing fees shall only be accepted during the period specified on all working days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Applications received after the last date specified in the admission notice, for any reason whatsoever, shall not be considered under any circumstances. Accordingly, in their own interest, candidates should ensure timely submission of the application form/ processing fee

Selection procedure: Subject to the minimum eligibility criteria specified by the University, all admissions (except Kashmiri migrants and children/wards of non resident Indians) shall first be made strictly according to merit secured in AIEEE 2010 (All India Rank) only from amongst the applications received on the prescribed form by the University along with the processing fee within the time frame stipulated for submission of the same. In case seats are vacant after exhausting the AIEEE 2010 (All India Rank) merit list, such seats will then be filled strictly on merit secured in class XII or equivalent examination subject to the minimum eligibility condition stipulated by the University. In case students have equal marks in class XII or equivalent, the candidate with higher marks in Mathematics will be considered. In case both have equal marks in Mathematics as well, the student with higher marks in Physics will be considered. In the event the marks are equal in Physics as well, the student with higher marks in English would be considered to break the tie. Children/ward of NRI’s will be admitted on the basis of merit in class XII or equivalent on first cum first served basis subject to availability of seats and compliance with the formalities with respect to sponsorship etc. Unfilled seats if any under this category will be transferred to the All India category on the date of physical counseling
