TANCET 2019 for admission to MBA, MCA & ME/M.Tech /MArch /MPlan Degree Programs 2019

TANCET 2019 Notification – Applications are invited for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2019 conducted by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of Government of Tamil Nadu from candidates who seek admission to (i) MBA (ii) MCA, and (iii) M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch / M.Plan Degree Programs for the year 2019-20.

The Courses offered at University Departments, University Colleges of Engineering, Regional Campuses of Anna University, Annamalai University, Government and Government Aided Colleges (Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges) and Self-financing Colleges (Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges including stand-alone Institutions) in Tamil Nadu can be registered only through Online. Some Universities and Self-Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in TANCET 2019.

Other State candidates can appear for the entrance test, but the eligibility conditions will be stipulated by the admitting authority / University.

TANCET 2019 Important Dates

  1. Commencement of Registration of Application through Online only: 08th May 2019
  2. Last Date for Registration of Application Form: 25th May 2019
  3. Date of Admit Card:  02nd week of March 2019
  4. Date of Entrance Test (All Courses):
  5. MCA Program: 22nd June 2019 (FN, 10.00 a.m. – 12.00 noon)
  6. MBA Program: 22nd June 2019 (AN, 02.00 p.m. – 04.30 p.m.)
  7. M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan Programs 23rd June 2019 (FN, 10.00 a.m. – 12.00 noon)

 

Eligibility Criteria for TANCET 2019

  1. University has set some eligibility criteria for the candidates who wise to apply for the test. Candidates can read below the criteria according to the program they are applying for:

For MBA

  1. A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained at least 50% (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree exam
  2. 10+2+3 years pattern (or)
  3. 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern (or)
  4. BE / B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Pharm (or)
  5. (i) 10+2 + AMIE* (or) ii) 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE

 

For MCA

  1. A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration with mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level and obtained at least 50% (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree exam
  2. 10+2+3 / 4 years Pattern (or)
  3. 10+3 years diploma + 3 years Pattern
  4. (i) 10+2 + AMIE (or) (ii) 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE

For MCA Lateral Entry

  1. A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in BCA, B.Sc (Computer Science/Information Technology) with mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level and obtained at least 50% (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination
  2. 10+2+3 years Pattern

 

For M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/M.Plan

  1. pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field and obtained at least 50% (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination
  2. B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Arch (or)
  3. B.Pharm/B.Sc (Agri./ Forestry / Horticulture / Fishery) degree programme (or)
  4. Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed (or)
  5. M.Sc (5 years) Integrated (or)
  6. B.Sc 3 years (Computer Science/Information Technology) and MSc 2 years (Computer Science/Information Technology
  7. MCA (3 years) after 10+2+3 years bachelor’s degree
  8. MCA Lateral Entry (2 years) after 10+2+3 years degree in BCA or BSc (Computer Science / Information Technology)
  9. 10+2 + AMIE (or)
  10. 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE
  11. Candidates appearing for the final semester / year of examination of the said qualifying degree course except courses offered by Professional Institution’s (like AMIE) during April/May 2019 may also apply for TANCET 2019

 

Note:

  1. Candidates admitted through Lateral Entry in degree courses are not eligible except, B.E/B.Tech and MCA degree Courses
  2. Candidates with B.E/B.Tech degree obtained through Distance/Weekend mode are not eligible
  3. Candidates with degree obtained without studying 10th, 12th Std or 3 years degree program are not eligible

Application Fee

  1. Candidates have to submit only one application for the Entrance Test for all the above PG Programs.
  2. The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/SCA/ST Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate) as entrance test fee for any one of the Programs either (1) MBA or (2) MCA or (3) ME/M.Tech / M.Arch / M.Plan.
  3. If a candidate desires to appear for more than one program, for every additional program, he/she has to pay Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) along with the filled-in application.

 

TANCET 2019 Application Process

Registration for Entrance Test

  1. The candidates can register for the entrance test in any one of the modes given below
  2. The candidates can register only through online by logging on to www.annauniv.edu/tancet2019
  3. The hall tickets and mark sheets should be downloaded from the above Webportal.

 

a) Registration in Person

  1. Candidates can appear in person at the Co-coordinating Centers shown under with the following documents:
  2. Copy of X Std. or equivalent mark sheet
  3. Copy of XII Std. mark sheet or 3 years Diploma certificate
  4. Entrance Test Fee in the form of Cash (or) Demand Draft
  5. SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu have to produce a copy of the permanent community certificate (card format) for availing fee concession

 

b) Internet Registration

  1. Candidates can register through internet by filling-up the application form, downloading it and send it to "The Secretary, TANCET, Centre for Entrance Examinations, Anna University", Chennai-600025 with the following enclosed:
  2. Copy of X Std. or equivalent mark sheet
  3. Copy of XII Std. mark sheet or 3 years Diploma certificate
  4. Entrance Test Fee in the form of Demand Draft
  5. An attested copy of the permanent community certificate (card format) issued by the competent authority of Government of Tamilnadu (for SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu)

Hall Ticket and Mark Sheet

  1. The Registration Number assigned in the Hall Ticket should be entered at the appropriate place in the admission application form to be filled with the respective admitting authority later
  2. Hall ticket will be issued immediately after registration in person; all the eligible candidates who have registered through internet, should download the hall tickets from the website www.annauniv.edu
  3. Hall Ticket should be produced at the time of Entrance Test and also at the time of admission; if the hall ticket is lost after the test, a duplicate hall ticket can be obtained on payment of Rs.100/- in form of a Demand Draft, with a written request to "The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai-600025", including the Registration No/Application No and the name of the Exam Centre
  4. Mark sheets will be despatched to the candidates within 10 days from the date of publication of results of the entrance test to the address given in the application
  5. The mark sheet should be procedure at the time of admission
  6. Payment for duplicate Hall Ticket/Mark Sheet should be made in the form of a Demand Draft obtained from any Nationalised Bank drawn in favour of the Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai, payable at Chennai
