Character Sketch of Casca

Casca is a Roman senator who is initially very fearful and superstitious. He is terrified by the storm and believes the strange events—like a slave with a burning hand or a lion in the Capitol—are a sign from the gods that something terrible is about to happen. He is easily influenced and goes from being a scared observer to a committed conspirator after a conversation with Cassius. He is practical, though, and understands that getting Brutus to join them is important because Brutus’s good reputation will make their actions seem right and just.
