Course Details and Eligibility Criteria

Master of Visual Arts in Art History

  • Duration: 2 Years
  • Eligibility: A Second class Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from a recognized University (OR) A Second class Bachelors Degree in Humanities with proven aptitude in Fine Arts and its theoretical studies

Master of Visual Arts in Painting

  • Duration: 2 Years
  • Eligibility: A Second class Bachelors Degree in Painting with not less than 55% of marks

  1. Master of Visual Arts in Art History - 07 Seats
  2. Master of Visual Arts in Painting - 07 Seats
  • *4 seats reserved for domicile candidates and 3 seats for candidates from outside the State; however, in the absence of candidates from outside the state, these seats will be allotted to general category
  • **Students holding degree in subjects other than fine arts will have to attend a Bridge Course of one-year duration spread into two semesters; those who successfully complete the Bridge Course will be admitted to two years Masters programme in Visual Arts in Art History
  • For SC/ST Candidates a minimum pass in the qualifying examination is required

 

Selection Procedure

  • Admission will be made on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination, entrance test and performance in the interview
  • Candidates who score minimum 40% mark in the entrance test will only be called for interview
  • Distribution of Marks
  • Qualifying Exam - 20%
  • Written Test - 60%
  • Interview - 20%

Total - 100 Marks

 

Application Process

  • Applications for Entrance Exam should be submitted online at the University website www.keralauniversity.ac.in (exams.keralauniversity.ac.in/Visual Arts) and a hard copy should also be submitted to Registrar

Mode of Payment

  • The hard copies of the application shall be submitted along with a demand draft worth Rs.500/- drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Kerala, payable at Service Branch, Thiruvananthapuram
  • For applying to two programs, a total Rs.550/- (Rupees fifty for additional subject) shall be remitted by way of demand draft

Additional Information/Conditions

  • Candidates should have passed the qualifying exam from University of Kerala or should have passed the qualifying exam from a University recognized by the University of Kerala, as equivalent thereto in the 10+2+3 pattern of study
  • Candidates should have passed the qualifying Examination at the time of submitting application for the Entrance Examination
  • Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from other Universities should produce the eligibility certificate obtained from the University of Kerala, at the time of admission
  • Copy of the Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate showing the class obtained should be attached
  • Reservation and relaxation in percentage of marks as per the University
