KIMS Karad

  • The Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences was established in 1974. Hon. Shri. Jayawantraoji Bhosale conceived the project with an objective of serving the rural masses, with sophisticated yet economic medical care and to provide medical, nursing and health education to provide medical, nursing and health education to the population.

  • Application Form can be downloaded from the KIMS University website www.kimsuniversity.in and the filled-in application form along with a Demand Draft of Rs.1500/- drawn in favour of Registrar, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Deemed University, Karad Dist., Satara-415110 (Maharashtra State) or before 30th November 2018

Duration of Course

  • A candidate doing research leading to PhD degree must have worked for a minimum period of 2 years and in the normal course, he/she will not be allowed to submit his/her thesis before completing two years from the date of his/her registration as a research student
  • The period is two years for candidates who possess MD/MS/PG Diploma and three years for candidates with M Sc (Medical Subjects)
  • After provisional registration, every candidate shall submit the half yearly progress report regularly through the guide to the University

 

Eligibility Criteria for KIMS PhD and PhD Interdisciplinary Admission 2018

A candidate may be registered for doing research leading to Ph.D. Degree of any of the Faculties of the University, subject to the conditions mentioned below

  • He/she should hold M.Sc. or two years Diploma or Degree in the subject of Human Health Sciences. In exceptional cases the Centre for Advance Studies with consultation of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor can allow the candidate for Ph.D. registration even when he/she has no P.G. qualification OR
  • Persons working in National laboratories- institutes/Government/private organization nominated/sponsored by the respective employer. These persons should be holding rank of the Asst. Director/or above OR
  • The persons from faculties like Medicine, Dental, Ayurved, Homoeopathy and Allied Sciences having passed Graduate Degree and have got at least 15 years professional experience
  • The candidates may apply for PhD degree registration; for admission to the PhD Program in a subject in any faculty, applicants fulfilling the following criteria shall be treated as eligible
  • Persons having passed Post Graduate Degree Examination with at least 50% marks or having grade equivalent there to awarded by the concerned University. The Registration of such persons shall be confirmed on the recommendation of the Centre for Advance Studies
  • Application for research in inter-disciplinary areas and from applicants belonging to a faculty or subject other than faculty or subject in which the research is proposed to be done and from the International students (those who have not obtained the degree from Indian University) shall be considered on the basis of the proven ability and aptitude of the researcher for such kind of research
  • Topic should be approved by Departmental research committee and ethical committee of College where research is to be undertaken
  • Once the University has confirmed registration of the student for the particular topic no change in the topic shall be allowed without prior permission of Centre for Advance Studies

 

Selection Process

  • Selection to the interview to discuss the research interest for the PhD courses shall be made on the basis of the inter se merit of the candidates qualified at the PhD Entrance Test. Entrance test consist of 50 MCQs on the subject of interest and 25 MCQs on General Knowledge
  • Candidates selected in the interview will be eligible for registration

  • Form Fee Rs.1500 /-
  • Application Form can be downloaded from website and submitted along with the Demand Draft ofRs.500 /- in favor of KIMS University, Payable at Karad
