On June 26, 2002 MNREC was transformed into National Institute of Technology and Deemed University fully funded by Govt of India
Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad, invites applications for admissions to its MBA programme for 2012 session
The School of Management Studies (SMS) of the Institute was established in 1996 to provide holistic education to MBA students in technical ambience
SMS offers two year full time Master of Business Administration degree programme with dual specialization in the following disciplines
MBA: Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, System Management, Operations Management, International Business
Eligibility: The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Science; or an equivalent degree with Mathematics/Economics as one of the subjects in qualifying examination, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidate’s belonging to SC/ST/DA (it may also refer to as person with disability (PwD) category), awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions estd by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as university u/s 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or posses an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt of India
The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree
In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained the degree
In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100
Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting result can also apply
If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by 30th June, 2012 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her college/institute (issued on or before 30th June, 2012) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate
However, mark sheet of qualifying examination with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA must be submitted to the office of Dean (Academic) on or before the first week of September 2012, failing which will lead to cancellation of admission
Applicants should note that the mere fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for short listing by the Institute for group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI)
This Institute uses CAT score for short listing the candidates for its MBA programme
IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme
Applicants must have appeared in CAT-2011

Reservation: As per the Govt of India requirements, 15% of the seats are reserved for SC and 7.5% for ST candidates, 27% of the seats are reserved for OBC candidates belonging to the non-creamy layer

In case of NC-OBC category, the caste included in central list of NC-OBC by the National Council of Backward Classes, Govt of India as on 16th March, 2012 (last date of submitting application form) will be used
Any subsequent changes will not be effective for admission
As per the provision u/s 39 of the PwD Act, 1995, 3% seats are reserved for Differently Abled (DA) candidates
Application procedure: Eligible candidates are required to download the application form from our Institute website www.mnnit.ac.in
Dully filled in and signed application form along with a demand draft of Rs 1200/- (Rs 600/- for SC/ST) in favour of Director, MNNIT payable at Allahabad must reach the admission cell, office of the Dean (Academic), Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Allahabad-211004 by 16th March, 2012 up to 5.30 p.m.
Selection procedure: Candidates will be shortlisted for group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI) on the basis of CAT-2011 score only
The short listed candidates shall be called for group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI) at the Institute
Final selection for admission in MBA will be made on the basis of CAT score, group discussion and personal interview
Institute fee: Total fee excluding mess charges; 1st semester Rs 27,500/-; 2nd semester Rs 25,375/-; 3rd semester 25,950/-; 4th semester Rs 25,375/-
Institute fee may change without any prior notice
