Applications are invited for The Schmidt MacArthur Fellowship 2016 for PG studies. Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the US-based Schmidt Family Foundation are offering Schmidt MacArthur Fellowship for the year 2016.

About the Fellowship
The Schmidt MacArthur Fellowship is a 12-month international program on the circular economy open to postgraduate students in design, engineering and business from a network of fourteen Partner Universities
Each year the Fellowship also runs a Wild Card competition to identify one or two exceptional students from any other universities in the world, to win a place on the program
The program includes a weeklong summer school in the UK, an online support program and a cash bursary, as well as the opportunity to link with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s wider programme of activities and networks
Partner Universities
14 Partner Universities (Cranfield University, Imperial College London, London Business School, University of California Berkeley, Delft University of Technology, Kedge Business School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIP Politecnico di Milano, National Institute of Design India, Royal College of Art, Stanford University, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Tongji University, and Yale University)
Schmidt-Macarthur Fellowship Details
As a par of the Fellowship, both the students as well as their mentors will be rewarded
Students will be awarded with Fellowship worth 10,000 British Pound and it will include:
Grant: A grant worth 2,000 British Pound (Approx. INR 2,00,000)
Summer School: Fully paid 7 days Summer School on Circular Economy in UK
Online Program: Students will get a chance to be a part of CE100 six week Executive Education course along with Online Knowledge building program and support
Eligibility Criteria
There is no restriction over the nationality of the application of the Fellowship
The student should have an accepted place on postgraduate courses in design, engineering and/or business at one of the Fellowship Partner Universities
Evidence of the support of an academic mentor within their home university and the availability of that mentor to attend the weeklong summer school, in the UK during 20th – 24th June 2016
Selection Process
The selection criteria of Schmidt-Macarthur Fellowship are based on the concept of the circular economy and systems thinking
The evaluation of the candidates will be done on the basis of their: (a) Thinking and content; (b) Contextualisation and completeness; (c) Presentation style and technical proficiency
How to Submit your Application
All applications are submitted online; this will involve completing an online form and uploading a link to your audio-visual presentation via YouTube
The applications for the Schmidt-Macarthur Fellowshiip will be submitted online and the candidates are required to complete the application form and as a 90 second audio-visual presentation
