Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana KVPY 2017 Fellowship

The Dept. of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India, sponsored Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Program, which is being run by Indian Institute of Science, is inviting applications for KVPY Scholarship-2017 to encourage the students who are studying Basic Sciences to take up research career in Science.

Online application to apply for KVPY 2017 will be available from 16th July 2017

Last Date for Closing of KVPY online Application: 23rd August 2017

KVPY 2017 Aptitude Test 05th November 2017

KVPY Scholarship 2017 Details

Fellows under SA/SX/SB streams will receive a stipend of Rs.5000/- per month and a contingency grant of Rs.20000/- per annum during 1st to 3rd years of - B.Sc./BS/B.Stat./ B.Math/Integrated M.Sc./MS.

Fellows under SA/SX/SB streams will receive a stipend of Rs.7000/- per month and a contingency grant of Rs.28000/- per annum during M.Sc./4th to 5th years of Integrated M.Sc./MS/M.Math/M.Stat.

Eligibility Criteria for KVPY 2017

The KVPY Fellowships are given to Indian Nationals only to Study in India (Students holding PIO, OCI Card and students intending to pursue/pursuing undergraduate program under Distance Education scheme/correspondence course of any university are not eligible to apply)

Students enrolled in an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences, that is, B.Sc/B.S./B.Stat/B.Math/Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Neurosciences, Bioinformatics, Marine Biology, Geology, Human Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Materials Science or Environmental Science

KVPY 2017 Fellowship Selection Procedure

Aptitude Test: After scrutiny of application forms and meeting the eligibility criteria for various streams, all eligible students will be called for  aptitude test conducted both in Hindi and English at different centers across the country on Sunday, the 29th October 2017

KVPY 2017 Admit Card

Students may download the admit card for the aptitude test from the website from the first week of October 2017

Interview: Based on the performance in the aptitude test, short-listed students will be asked to appear for an interview which is the final stage of the selection procedure

KVPY 2017 Application Form

Students holding PIO, OCI card and students intending to pursue/pursuing undergraduate programme under distance education scheme are not eligible. Application forms may be downloaded from the KVPY website www.kvpy.org.in

Those who are unable to do so, may request for a hard copy enclosing therewith the paid Bank Challan/pay-in-slip (available at www.kvpy.org.in) clearly indicating the stream (SA/SX/SB) on the envelope
