Getting admission into IITs is considered to be very difficult task and people who have graduated from IITs have done great things. IITs follow a common procedure which is JEE (Advanced Joint Entrance Examination) for undergraduate admissions into B.Tech programme. For the admission into M.Tech and PhD programmes in IIT, GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is conducted jointly by IITs and IISc. The list of some popular courses offered by IITs are Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering etc.
