Eligibility Criteria

    • The following eligibility criteria are required for admission through UPCATET-2024:-
    • 1. The candidate must be a native of Uttar Pradesh.
    • The definition of natives of Uttar Pradesh is as follows-
    • Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from Uttar Pradesh and have been residing in Uttar Pradesh for the last five years. Or
    • A citizen of India whose father’s place of residence or place of origin is Uttar Pradesh and who is also a resident of Uttar Pradesh. Or
    • A citizen of India whose father’s place of residence or place of origin was not in Uttar Pradesh but who or whose father has acquired residence in Uttar Pradesh, but after such acquisition, the period of residence of the candidate in Uttar Pradesh till the date of submission of this application form is not less than five years. OR
    • For wards of employees of Government of India (in civil or military service) or employees of public undertakings like Life Insurance Corporation, Nationalized Banks, Indian Heavy Electricals, Indian Drug and Pharmaceutical Ltd., serving in Uttar Pradesh (attachment of employer’s certificate is mandatory), the condition is that such candidate will submit an affidavit to this effect on a stamp paper of appropriate value.

  • 1. Candidates who have passed three years B.Sc. (Plant Molecular Biology & Biotechnology) or Biotechnology course cannot take admission in M.Sc. (Molecular Biology & Biotechnology) course. For admission in all Masters courses, it is necessary to pass a four year graduation course. Candidates with a three year degree are not eligible.
  •  2. In the entrance examination of the MBA course, natives of Uttar Pradesh / residents of other states of the country and candidates having three-year bachelor’s degree are also eligible only if they have a master’s degree in agriculture and equivalent after three-year bachelor’s degree.
  • 3. Candidates taking admission in postgraduate courses, who have been put on Conduct Probation for more than two years during their study period, will not be given admission in any agricultural university.
  • 4. For admission in M.V.Sc. course, the candidate must have completed 10+2+5 Years B.V.Sc. & A.H. course or 10+2+5½ Years B.V.Sc. & A.H. course and it will be mandatory for the candidate to be registered with the Indian Veterinary Council or State Veterinary Council.

Note:-

  • 1. Candidates taking admission in Ph.D. courses, who have been put on Conduct Probation for more than one year during their study period, will not be given admission in any agricultural university.
  • 2. Candidates taking admission in Ph.D. courses must check the prescribed qualification and nomenclature of the degree program before applying. If any such candidate applies whose Master’s degree nomenclature is not as per the nomenclature mentioned in the information brochure, then such candidate will not be given admission at the time of counseling. In case of not being given admission, no claim of the candidate will be valid, even if the candidate has not given the examination.

 

Age Limit:

  • For B.V.Sc. and A.H. course, the minimum age limit should be 17 years and maximum age limit should be 25 years as on 31 December 2024. SC / ST and OBC candidates will be given 5 years relaxation in the maximum age limit.
  • For the remaining graduate courses, the minimum age limit should be 16 years and maximum age limit should be 22 years as on 31 December 2024. SC/ST and OBC candidates will be given 5 years relaxation in the maximum age limit.
  • Person with disability will be allowed 05 years relaxation in the upper age limit in all courses.
  • There is no age limit for Master’s and PhD courses.

Selection Process

  • All the candidates are selected on the basis of their Rank in UPCATET 2024. However, the selection procedure for MBA (Agriculture) is slightly different.
  • Selection procedure for MBA (Agriculture) is as follows:
  • Candidates first have to appear for the entrance exam.
  • All the UPCATET 2024 qualified candidates are then called for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.
  • All the candidates will be selected on the basis of the Comprehensive Merit List.

Evaluation

  • For every correct answer : 4 Marks will be added to the total score.
  • For every wrong answer : 1 Mark will be deducted from the total score.

  • The Admit Card of UPCATET 2024 will be released from the official website at https://upcatet.org/ as per the schedule.
  • This document is also known as the hall ticket and issued to those candidates who have submitted application form and fee on time, correctly. Important details of the exam such as date and time, examination centre, candidates roll number and other credentials are printed in the UPCATET 2024 admit card.
