National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the exam dates for PhD Entrance Test for DU, JNU Delhi, BHU Varanasi and BBAU Lucknow Admissions 2023, 

 

NTA PhD Entrance Test 2023 Dates – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notice informing the dates for PhD Entrance Test 2023 for admission to PhD courses offered by University of Delhi (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU). As per the notification on the official website, the PhD Entrance Test 2023 is scheduled to be conducted on October 26, 27, 30, and 31, 2023 at various examination Centers located in different cities across India in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

NTA has also released the dates to make corrections in the particulars of the online Application Form as one time facility for the candidates who have successfully registered for the examination. Candidates can make corrections in the online application form from September 23 to 24, 2023 (up to 11:50 P.M.). Candidates are advised to do the correction very carefully, as no further opportunity for correction will be given. Candidates are required to pay the additional fee (wherever applicable) either through Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI.

Instructions for making correcting in the Application form

  • Candidates are not permitted to modify their mobile phone number, email address, or address (permanent or present).
  • Candidates will be allowed to make changes in any one of the following information, the candidate’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, photograph, and signature. 
  • Candidates have the opportunity to change their date of birth, gender, category, and subcategory during the application correction window.
  • Candidates are permitted to change exam cities, subject to restrictions on current and permanent addresses.
  • Correction in these fields will be applicable only after payment of an additional fee if any.

  • Successful final transaction of fee : 09 August to 22 September 2023 (Up to 11:50 P.M.)
  • Correction in particulars : 23 September to 24 September 2023 (Up to 11:50 P.M.)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who have passed their postgraduate/equivalent examination or appearing in 2023 irrespective of their age can appear in PhD Entrance Test 2023 for DU, JNU, BHU and BBAU. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria of the University in which they are desirous of taking admission.
  • NTA has no age limit for the candidates for appearing in the Ph.D. Entrance Test 2023.

Note:

  • For admission in Universities through Ph.D. Entrance Test for DU, JNU, BHU and BBAU2023, the existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences etc. of the respective University shall be applicable.
  • As the eligibility criteria for admission may be unique for every University, the candidates should visit the University website to which they are applying for their respective programs.
  • Before applying the Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves that they possess the eligibility criteria laid down by the University they are applying to.
  • Mere appearance in the Entrance Test or securing pass marks at the test does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission to the Programme unless he/she fulfills the Programme wise eligibility conditions of the University they are applying to. 

 

Application Process

  • Candidates must read carefully the instructions (including how to fill up the Application Form online) given in the Information Bulletin available on the NTA Website.(s) Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
  • Candidates can apply for Ph.D. Entrance Test for DU, JNU, BHU and BBAU – 2023 through the “Online” mode only. No other mode will be accepted.
  • Submission of Application Form could be made by the candidate online through the NTA website: https://phdentrance.samarth.ac.in

Fee (for one Test Papers)

  • General – Rs.1200/-
  • OBC-NCL/Gen-EWS –  Rs. 1100/-
  • SC/ ST/ Third Gender – Rs.1000/-
  • PwBD – Rs. 1000/-

Fee for additional Test Paper (Per Test Paper) 

  • General – Rs. 800
  • OBC-NCL/Gen-EWS – Rs. 700
  • SC/ ST/ Third Gender – Rs 700
  • PwBD – Rs. 700

Mode of payment 

  •  Through: Net-Banking/ Debit Card /Credit Card / UPI/Wallet

 

Exam Pattern

    • Mode of Examination : Computer Based Test mode only.
    • Medium of Question Papers : English language only
  • Structure of Question Papers
    • The Question paper will have two Sections.
    • Section 1- Research Methodology and Section 2- Subject specific.
    • Each Question paper will have 100 MCQ Questions in English only except Languages.
    •  All Questions are Compulsory.
    • Duration of Examination – 3 Hours (180 min.)
  • Marking Scheme
    • Each question carries 04 (four) marks.
    • For each correct response, the candidate will get 04 (four) marks.
    • For each incorrect response, 01 (one) mark will be deducted from the total score.
    • Un-answered/un-attempted response will be given no marks.
