KEAM 2024 Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must go through the KEAM Eligibility criteria given below before applying:
  • Nationality: Citizen of India/ Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
  • Nativity: Applicants should be an Indian citizen. OCI/ PIO are also eligible to apply. Candidates seeking admission to Professional Degree Courses will be categorized as Keralite, Non-Keralite Category I (NK-I) and Non-Keralite Category II (NK-II).

Academic Qualification

  •  Academic eligibility for admission to various courses is stipulated as per the existing guidelines issued by the Central Councils concerned.

Medical & Medical Allied Courses:

  • (a) Medical courses consist of MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BSMS and BUMS courses and Medical Allied courses consist of B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc.(Hons) Forestry, B.Sc.(Hons) Co-operation & Banking, B.Sc.(Hons) Climate Change & Environmental Science, B.Tech Biotechnology (under (KAU), BVSc. & AH and BFSc. courses.
  • For admission to MBBS, BDS Courses: Candidates who have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually at the Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognised equivalent thereto and obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology are eligible.
  • For admission to BAMS/ BHMS courses: Candidates who have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognised equivalent thereto and obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible. 
  • For admission to BSMS course: Candidates who have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or Examinations recognised equivalent thereto and obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible. The candidates should have passed 10th or 12th standard with Tamil as one of the languages or the candidate after been admitted to the BSMS course, shall have to study the Tamil language course during the first year of their professional degree course.
  • For admission to BUMS course: Candidates who have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognised equivalent thereto and obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible. The candidates should have passed 10th or 12th standard with Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as a subject. Candidate who has not passed Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as one of the subjects in the 10th Standard or in 12th Standard, shall have to study Urdu language along with Arabic and Mantiq Wa Falsafa (Logic and Philosophy) as a subject during the First Professional BUMS session.
  • For admission to B.Sc.(Hons.) Agri., B.Sc.(Hons) Forestry, B.Sc (Hons.) Cooperation & Banking, B.Tech Biotechnology (under (KAU), BFSc courses: Candidates who have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together are eligible.
  • For admission to B.Sc.(Hons) Climate Change & Environmental Science: Candidates who have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together are eligible. Candidates should have studied Mathematics as a subject in the Plus Two level.
  • For admission to BVSc. & AH Course: Candidates who have passed in the subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognised equivalent thereto and obtained 50% marks in aggregate of these subjects are eligible. 
  • Note: Candidates who have passed the BSc Degree (Three year course) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biotechnology as Main, and any one or two of the above subjects as subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main & Subsidiaries taken together, subject to the condition that they have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS and BSMS courses. For the BSMS course the candidates should have passed 10th or 12th standard with Tamil as one of the languages or the candidate after been admitted to the BSMS course, shall have to study the Tamil language course during the first year of their professional degree course. 
  • In the case of candidates coming under All India Quota, Nominees of Government of India and Nominees of other States/Union Territories, the Academic Eligibility as specified in clause 6.2.1 is applicable. 
  • Only those candidates who qualify in NEET-UG 2024 as per the Qualifying criteria described in the clause 9.7.5 (ii) & (iii) and satisfying the nativity conditions mentioned in clause 6.1 of the prospectus shall be considered for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BSMS, BUMS, Agriculture, Forestry, Co-operation & Banking, Climate Change & Environmental Science, B.Tech Biotechnology (under (KAU), Veterinary, Fisheries courses. 

Engineering courses:  

  • [Including B.Tech (Agri. Engg.) and B.Tech (Food Technology) courses under the Kerala Agricultural University, B.Tech (Dairy Technology) and B.Tech (Food Technology) courses under Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University and B.Tech (Food Technology) courses under Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies].
  • Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry as one of the optional subjects with at least 45% marks put together in the above subjects are eligible for admission. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown in the mark list of the Board of Examination obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility. 

Architecture course:

  • a. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or Examinations recognised equivalent thereto with at least 50 % aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50 % marks in aggregate are eligible.
  • b. In addition to the academic eligibility prescribed under clause 6.2.3 (a), only those candidates who score the minimum eligibility marks as per the Information Brochure of National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2024 will be considered for admission to B. Arch. Course. There is no relaxation in the minimum passing score of NATA to any category of candidate as per letter No. CA/5/Academic-NATA dated 11.03.2008. The candidates are advised to qualify in NATA on or before 31.07.2024.
  • c. There is no provision for lateral admission to the second year or at any stage during the 5 year course in Architecture.

B.Pharm course:

  • Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or Examinations equivalent there to with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects individually are eligible. 

Age Limit

  •  Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December 2024. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit for Engineering, Architecture, B.Pharm, BAMS, BSMS, BHMS and BUMS Courses. For MBBS and BDS courses, the upper age limit will be as per the Information Bulletin of NEET (UG)-2024. For other Medical Allied courses, the age limit prescribed by the respective Central Councils will be applicable.

 

KEAM 2024 Application Process

  • The detailed instructions for filling each item in the application are given in the link, “How to Apply” to be provided on the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in.
  • There are 5 steps for the online submission of applications and all the steps are mandatory. Candidates should complete all steps including uploading of the necessary certificates and documents on or before the last date notified for the same. 
  • Candidates have to visit the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in where he/she can find the link “KEAM-2024 Online Application”.

KEAM 2024 Exam Pattern

  • The Engineering Entrance Examination will be objective type with Multiple Choice Questions and based on a single response. For each question, five suggested answers would be given, of which only one will be the MOST APPROPRIATE RESPONSE. The candidate will have to select and click the most appropriate response.
  • The examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT Mode) in different sessions.
  • For Engineering Entrance Examination, Mathematics will have 75 questions, Physics will have 45 questions and Chemistry will have 30 questions to be answered in 180 minutes. 
  • For B.Pharm ONLY candidates, the Entrance Examination will have 45 questions in Physics and 30 questions in Chemistry to be answered in 90 minutes
  • Scoring, negative marks: For each correct response in the Engineering Entrance Examination, the candidates will be awarded FOUR marks, and for each incorrect response, ONE mark will be deducted from the total score.
  • Candidates desirous of being considered for any of the Medical & Medical Allied courses will have to write NEET-UG 2024 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). 
  • Candidates desirous of being considered for Architecture course should appear for the ‘National Aptitude Test in Architecture’ (NATA) to be conducted by the Council of Architecture, India and to get qualified in NATA on or before 31.07.2024. Candidates included in the Engineering rank list will not be considered for admission to B. Arch. course based on their Engineering rank.

 

KEAM 2024 Admit Card

  • Admit Cards for the Engineering Entrance Exam can be downloaded from the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in printout of the admit card thus obtained will have to be produced at the time of exam
  • Admit Cards will not be sent by post from this office to the candidate

 

Exam Centers

  • Entrance Exams will be held at the selected venues in all Districts in the State, Mumbai, New Delhi and Dubai
