Panjab University announces LLB Entrance Exam 2018

PU - LL.B (3 Years) Entrance Exam 2018

Punjab University LLB Entrance Exam acronym as PU-LLB Entrance Exam is conducted by Panjab University to provide admission in Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Professional 3-Year Course) (Semester System) running in its following given Legal study centres:

(i) Department of Law PU Chandigarh

(ii) PU Regional Centre Muktsar (Punjab)

(iii) PU Regional Centre Ludhiana (Punjab)

(iv) UILS, PU Regional Centre, Bajwara, Hoshiparpur (Punjab)

PU-LLB 2018 Number of Seats

The University offers 431 seats for three year LLB programmes distributed among four colleges including:

(i) Department of Laws, PU Chandigarh: 202 (Morning), 202 (Evening); Seats for Foreign Nationals/NRI Candidates: 27 Seats
(ii) PU Regional Centre, Muktsar (Punjab): 58 Seats; Seats for Foreign Nationals/NRI Candidates: 08 Seats
(iii) PU Regional Centre, Ludhiana (Punjab): 72 (Evening); Seats for Foreign Nationals/NRI Candidates: 09 Seats
(iv) UILS, Swami Sarvanand Giri, PU Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur (Punjab): 60+3 Seats

Note: Eligible Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin/NRI Candidates, who are in India and desirous of seeking admission in this category, will compete amongst themselves for the seats created for them by appearing in the Entrance Test. Those residing abroad and applying from there will be required to produce the General Test Score of Graduate Records Examination (GRE) General. The fee structure for all such candidates will be prescribed by the Panjab University in the Admission Brochure

Foreign students shall have to comply with Visa and other requirements of the Govt. of India, U.T. Administration, Chandigarh as well as Panjab University, Chandigarh, as prescribed by them from time to time

PU LLB 2018 Eligibility

Educational Qualification: The Entrance Test for Bachelor of Laws (LLB) shall be open to all such candidates who possess the qualifications as mentioned below:

Those candidates who have passed/appeared in the final year Bachelor's degree in any faculty of the Panjab University with at least 45% of the aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/BC candidates); OR

A Bachelor's degree in any faculty of any other University recognized as equivalent to the corresponding degree of the Punjab University with at least 45% of the aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/BC candidates)

Provided that in case of candidates having Bachelor's degree of the Punjab University or any other University recognized by the Syndicate through Modern Indian Languages (Hindi, Urdu or Punjabi) (Gurumukhi script) and /or in a Classical Language (Sanskrit or Persian or Arabic), the aggregate of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/BC candidates) shall be calculated by taking into account the percentage of aggregate marks that he/she had secured at the language examination, excluding the marks for the additional optional paper English and the elective subject taken together; OR
Master's Degree in any subject from the Punjab University

A Master's degree from any other university recognized as equivalent to the corresponding post-graduate degree of the Punjab University

Note: The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation/post graduation through open universities system directly without having any basic qualifications for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission in LL.B course

Age Limits: There are no upper age limits for taking PU LLB Entrance exam

PU LLB 2018 Exam Pattern

PU LL.B Entrance exam consist of both objective as well as subjective type questions
The duration of the Entrance Test will be of 1 hour and 30 minutes
The entrance test will be of 75 marks consisting 50 marks for 50 multiple-choice questions and 25 marks for subjective type questions
The subjective type questions shall be on writing and communication skills with legal aptitude
The objective type questions (other than testing "Knowledge of English") will be available in Hindi and Punjabi also
The subjective type questions will have to be answered in English only

The entrance test will be held only in Chandigarh on June 2018

A candidate desirous of taking the entrance test should submit his/her in any branch of State Bank of India using website generated challan May, 2018

Last date for submission of fee details (journal number, branch code and date of deposit given by Bank) and uploading of photograph, signature with rest of the information on the website is June 2018
In no case the fee for the entrance test, once paid, shall be refunded

The medium of examination shall be English only

The question papers in case of LL.B will be available in English, Hindi and Punjabi (except for the portion Knowledge of English and Writing and Communication Skill with Legal Aptitude)

In case of objective type question papers having OMR sheets, there shall be negative marking for wrong answers (marks will be deducted for wrong answers)

If for each correct answer 1 mark is to be awarded, for a wrong answer 1/4 mark will be deducted

The result of the entrance test will be made available on the University website http://www.results.puchd.ac.in

PU LLB 2018 Exam Fees

The examination fee for PU LLB entrance exam is
i) For General Category applicants: Rs.1000/-
ii) For SC/ST Category applicants: Rs.550/-
(50% concession for PU regular employees under B&C class Senate)

Application Form for PU LLB 2018

This prospectus is valid for only online application form. The online application form for General and SC/ST categories are priced differently. Please pay the correct fees to avoid complication at the time of admission
The candidates shall have to apply for admission to the course within the prescribed time limit, directly and independently to the respective departments /centres

This information for applying online will be available as in the Hand Book of Information and on the University Website after the advertisement of the admission notice in the newspaper

Note down your Login Id and Password

Download SBI Slip and pay fee in any SBI branch

Login and upload scanned photograph, signature, fill other important information Save and Confirm

Download your Admit Card June 2018

Candidate availing concession in the fee under the category SC/ST/Blind OR PU Class B/C Regular Employee must send the copy of printout of their filled form alongwith the self attested copy of Category Certificate/ Proforma for claiming 50% concession to PU Regular Employees ("B" and "C" Class) duly signed by Head/Chairperson, to Assistant Registrar, CET Cell, Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh-160014 by registered post/speed post or by hand on or before June 2018
