Change in Assessment pattern of CBSE Board Exam

CBSE announces change in Board Exam Assessment Pattern – Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the list for the assessment for Class X and XII Board exams 2020.  

Under the CBSE board, each subject consists of assessment components of two or three types. These are – Theory and Practical or Internal assessment or project. The circular issued by the CBSE states that students of Class 12 would have to appear in each assessment separately and obtain a minimum of 33 percent marks in each assessment components. Class 10 students need to score overall 33% percent marks in each subject (both theory and Practical/Internal Assessment are taken together)

The theory of each subject is of 80 marks and Internal Assessment is of 20 marks. In their Internal assessment students of Class 12 need to score at least 6 marks out of 20 to pass.  In theory paper, students need to score at least 26 marks to pass. For practical subjects which are for 30 marks, candidates need to score 9 marks to pass. For the remaining 70 marks in theory, candidates will have to score 23 marks to pass.

For students appearing in CBSE Class 12 exams, subjects such as English, Hindi and Maths have also been added in the purview of Internal Assessment.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) would organise the upcoming board exams during the months of February and March 2020.
