UPSC allows candidates to change exam centre for Civil Services

UPSC CSE/ IFS candidates allowed to change their choice of exam centers

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has decided to give an opportunity to applicants of Civil Services and Indian Forest Services Prelim Examination 2021 to change their choice of exam center. As per the notification, the window of submitting the revised choice of Centers by the candidates will be operational in two phases i.e. 12th-19th July, 2021 (06.00 PM) and 26th-30th July, 2021 (06.00 PM) on the Commission’s website upsconline.nic.in. 

Candidates who want to change their choice of exam center can visit the UPSC official website and submit their choices of Centers of the UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2021 before the due dates.

The official notice reads, “Keeping in view the large number of candidates of the UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2021 (including the Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2021) and the fact that the Commission has recently decided to operate four additional Centers at Almora, Uttarakhand, Srinagar, Uttarakhand, Nasik, Maharashtra and Surat, Gujarat for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2021, the Commission has now decided to give an opportunity to the applicants of these two examinations to submit their revised choice of Centre.” 

The notice also mentioned that “the candidates’ request for change in the centers will be considered based on the principle of “first-apply-first allot” basis. All the conditions and eligibility mentioned earlier will remain unchanged.”

The UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2021 and UPSC Indian Forest Service Prelims Exam 2021 is scheduled to be held on October 10, 2021. The exams were earlier scheduled to be held on June 27, but were deferred amid the pandemic.
