Class 9 English Syllabus for Academic Session 2026-27
The Official website of the CBSE provides details regarding the exam pattern, section – wise break up of marks, details of questions, word limit, etc. Students can check out the post below for more details on the paper pattern, syllabus, deleted topics, grammar topics list and writing skills syllabus for Class 9 English Language and Literature paper. For the literature section, the CBSE has prescribed Kaveri Book published by the NCERT. From the academic session 2026-27, as per the NEP, 2021; a language option can be either R1 or R2 and students are required to choose any one for English subject. The Kaveri textbook has been developed based on common curricular goals rather than rigid differentiation between R1 & R2. Below, students can find the details of paper pattern as distinctly provided for R1 and R2 options of English subject.
