The Full form of NURSE is Nurse Practitioner. NURSE is commonly abbreviated as NP. An NP is a registered nurse (RN) who has completed an advanced training program in a medical specialty, such as pediatric care. An NP may be a direct, primary health care provider, and can prescribe medications. Some NPs work in research rather than in direct patient care. LPN stands for Licensed Practical Nurse. There are a few states like California and Texas that utilize the term LVN, which stands for Licensed Vocational Nurse, whereas RN stands for Registered Nurse. One of the biggest differences between the LPN and the RN is the length of schooling.
