IIM revised Exam Pattern for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021

Indian Institute of Management has revised the exam pattern for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021 to give candidates adequate time to complete the exam. As per the new exam pattern, each section will have a lesser number of questions as compared to previous year. Apart from this change, the CAT 2021 exam will follow the major changes introduced in 2020. More details on the same are available on iimcat.ac.in.

As per MP Ram Mohan, the Convenor of CAT 2021, CAT exam pattern in 2020 was changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and since the issue is continuing, even this year the paper pattern will be largely similar.

The Convenor even told reporters that due to the changes, there is a likelihood that students might have faced the problem of time pressure to complete the exam. Hence, to ease it out, this year the number of questions has been reduced across all three sections of Reading Comprehension, Verbal Ability and Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning.”

The registration Process for CAT 2021 will now end on September 22, 2021 at 5.00 pm. There will be no further extension of registration. After the closure of the registration window, candidates will be able to edit the following fields in the application form (if required).

  1. Photograph
  2. Signature
  3. Test City Preferences.

CAT 2021 will be conducted on November 28, 2021 (Sunday) in three sessions. The duration of the test will be 120 minutes. Candidates will be allotted exactly 40 minutes for answering questions in each section and they will not be allowed to switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section.

Tutorials to understand the format of the test will be available on the CAT website from October 2021.
