NDA I 2023 Exam – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has started the registration process for National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination I 2023 (NDA I) for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA, and for the Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC).

- Last Date of Submission of Application: 10th January 2023 till 6:00 PM
- Online Applications can be withdrawn from 18.01.2023 to 24.01.2023 till 6:00 PM
- UPSC NDA 1 Exam Date: 16th April 2023
- Admit Card Date 2023: Three weeks before the exam
- Interview Date: To be released
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
- Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii) and (iii), above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Age Limits
- Only unmarried male/female candidates born not earlier than 02nd July, 2004 and not later than 1st July, 2007 are eligible.
Physical Standards
- Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Exam (II), 2023 as per guidelines
Educational Qualifications
- For Army Wing of National Defence Academy :—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
- For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy :—12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
- Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.
How to Apply for NDA I 2023 – Application Process
- Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.nic.in.
- It is essential for the applicant to register himself/herself first at One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the Commission’s website, and then proceed for filling up the online application for the examination.
- OTR has to be registered only once in lifetime.
- This can be done anytime throughout the year. If the candidate is already registered, he/she can proceed straightway for filling up the online application for the examination.

- For SC/ST Candidates/Sons of JCOs/NCOs/ORs: Nil

The selection will be done on the basis of:
- Written Test – 900 Marks
- SSB Interview/Personality Test – 900 Marks
