Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, while interacting with the students said that the new exam dates for UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) 2020 will be announced any time soon, on the official website. He requested all the aspirants who have registered to appear for UGC Net 2020 (June) Exam to keep visiting the official website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in for latest updates.
 
As a result of the lockdown imposed to contain the Covid-19 outbreak, UGC NET 2020 examination scheduled to be held from June 15 to 20 may be postponed. 
 
The HRD Minister said that, “We will announce the dates of UGC- NET and other exams in a few days. Possibly, the exams will be conducted anytime after June. However, some exams can be conducted after June 15 if the situation normalize. We will decide and announce the dates accordingly.” 
 
Meanwhile, NTA has also extended the online registration date of UGC NET 2020 till May 16, 2020. All those candidates who are interested to appear for UGC NET 2020 and have not applied for it yet, can apply for the same through the official website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
 
The UGC NET exam is conducted for the posts of Junior Research Fellowship or as an eligibility for becoming an Assistant Professor or for both, in Indian Universities.
