Class 10, 12 Board Exams to be held as per CBSE Syllabus

Board Exams to be conducted as per CBSE Syllabus, not NCERT Books – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently released an important notification regarding the upcoming Board exams in February 2020. It has stated that the exams of Class X and XII Boards as well as that of Class IX and XI would be based on the syllabus that has been prescribed by the CBSE. It will not be according to the textbooks of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). 

 

The CBSE had to issue this notification after it was reported that the NCERT books has certain parts whose information is not for the purpose of assessment and examinations. Therefore, the Board has directed all its affiliated schools to go through the syllabus uploaded on its official website.

 

The circular was out on Thursday, October 17. It reads that the Board recommends the NCERT books for classes IX, X, XI and XII. It has been brought to the Board’s notice that certain parts of these books are not for the exam purpose. This information is not applicable for the students who will be appearing for the upcoming X and XII exam to be held in February 2020. The students and teachers should visit the official website http://cbseacademic.nic.in/curriculum.html in order to check about the syllabus. 

 

The CBSE further stated that examination or assessment would be done according to the syllabus provided by the CBSE, not as per what is given in the NCERT books. The teachers and students along with their parents should make their study preparations accordingly.
