BSc Biotechnology – Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology is a 3- year undergraduate course. Biotechnology is a field of applied biology that involves the use of living organisms and bioprocesses in engineering, technology, medicine and other fields requiring by-products.

The course covers 6-semesters and the duration of each semester is 6 months. The minimum educational qualification required to apply for the course is 10+2 in the science stream completed from a recognized educational board. The average fee of the course in India is ranging between INR 1 – 3 lacs, varying across institutes.

 

BSc Biotechnology Eligibility

Any student who has done Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics subjects in class 12th can opt for B Sc Biotechnology as their specialization in undergraduate level. The students are eligible for admission after clearing the entrance exams.

One can go do Masters in Science (Biotechnology) after clearing undergraduation. One can also pursue PG after receiving a graduate degree in any of the life sciences.

Students who are interested in research and development can also pursue their Ph.D. degrees.
