The royal elephant Gajaraj is the king’s favourite. He has a mahout who trains him and takes his care. However, Gajaraj remains sad and longs for a friend. He is caring and feeds the hungry dog. He is playful and splashes water on the dog. He is affectionate as he makes the dog sit on its back and gives it a ride. Gajaraj is saddened on being separated from Buntee and does not eat food till they unite again.

Character Sketch of Mahout

It becomes friends with the royal elephant. It gets happy to see its master but misses its friend Gajaraj. Buntee also refuses to eat food till he is united with his friend Gajaraj.

Character Sketch of Farmer

However, later when he sees that Buntee is sad and refusing food, he allows Buntee to go to its friend Gajaraj and is happy to see them united.
