Delhi University PhD Admission through Central University Entrance Test (CUET)
As per the reports by various news media, Delhi University will soon provide admission to its PhD program through Central University Entrance Test (CUET) from the upcoming academic year i.e 2023-24. However, teaching and non-teaching categories serving in the university can directly appear for interviews. The decision was taken during the Executive Council meeting.
The statement issued by the university said that, “PhD admission will be done on the basis of CUET (PhD)-2023 based on the recommendation of the Standing Committee of the Academic Council, after deliberations on various matters related to admission and attendance of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD programs for the academic session 2023-24, the same were also accepted by the Executive Council (EC).”
In addition to this, the executive council has also given its approval to the seat matrix and eligibility requirements for the committee that selects students for medical science courses. Candidates for the medical program will be able to enroll in undergraduate MBBS/BDS programs for the 2023–24 academic year. Additionally, the Respiratory Therapy MSc degree will fall within the purview of CUET- PG.
A part from this, DU and eight other colleges executing B El Ed courses will implement Integrated Teacher Education Program from 2024-25. Additionally the resolution to set up the Centre for Independence and Partition Studies, passed in the 1014th Academic Council meeting of the university, was also approved.
