Eligibility Criteria for HBTU Kanpur Admission 2021
For B.Tech. Programs :
- Passed (10 + 2) qualifying examination from U.P. Board or its equivalent from any other recognized Board / University with a minimum of five subjects in which Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects from Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology/ Computer Science as Technical Vocational subjects.
- Candidates must obtain at least 60% marks (55% in case of the candidates belonging to SC / ST category) in aggregate in above three subjects. In addition, all other eligibility conditions for appearing in JEE (Mains) Examination shall be applicable to the candidates.
For PG Programs :
- Passed Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five subjects in which Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects from Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology/ Computer Science with minimum 60 % marks from a recognized University.
- A relaxation of 5% of marks in minimum qualifying marks is permissible candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC and differently-abled candidates for admissions to PhD programs
For PhD Programs :
- Passed Master degree in relevant discipline / subject with a minimum of 60 % marks or equivalent CGPA / CPI.

Application Process
- Eligible candidates can apply online through the University website https://hbtu.ac.in/
- All the candidates are required to come with photo identity proof such as Aadhar Card / Driving License / PAN at the time of Written Examination and Counselling for Admission.

Admission Process
- B.Tech Programs : Admissions will be made on basis of merit of JEE (Main)-2021
- B.Tech (Lateral Entry) Programs : Admissions will be made on basis of merit of Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test (UPCET)-2021
- MCA Program : Admissions for Two year MCA Program will be made on the basis of merit of NIMCET-2021.
- M.Tech Programs : Admission to M.Tech. (Full Time) programs will be through valid GATE score
- PhD Programs : Admission will be based on Written Examination and Interview. Candidates with UGC / CSIR Fellowship are exempted from written examination.
