NIMCET MCA Common Entrance Test 2017

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for NIMCET MCA Entrance Exam (NIMCET) 2017NIMCET-2017 is a National Level Entrance Test for admission into Master of Computer Applications Program (MCA) offered by 11 participating National Institutes of Technology (NITs) at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangalfor the year 2017-18.

11 National Institute of Technology are participating in NIMCET 2017 which is given below
NIT Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal

Eligibility Criteria for NIMCET 2017

Indian Nationals securing at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale in case of SC, ST) in B.Sc/B.Sc (Hons)/ BCA /BIT of minimum three years full-time; or
B.E/B.Tech or equivalents from a recognized University are eligible to appear for NIMCET-2017 test

Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET-2017 and such candidates shall have to furnish the proof (in the form of a certificate issued by the
Head of institution where the candidate has studied) of candidature for appearing the examinations during the academic year 2015-16

All candidates shall submit the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET-2017 at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 15th Sept. 2017, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs
*Students who have completed/completing degree B.Sc/B.Sc (Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their program is approved by UGC / AICTE and
Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India
Conversion from CGPA to percentage and vice-versa is not permitted; (OR)
The percentages of marks in qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in all the subjects studied in all the years including languages, optional and additional subjects studied, if any
The aggregate of marks secured in all the subjects in all the years computed using this method of calculation alone be considered by NIMCET-2017 for deciding eligibility

Admission process through NIMCET-2017

The candidates who appeared and obtained marks in NIMCET-2017 will be allotted ranks

The candidates who obtained rank in NIMCET-2017 only shall be eligible for admission into MCA program at the participating institutes

Note - Hereafter, qualifying degree means (i) B.Sc/B.Sc (Hons)/BCA/BIT of minimum 3 years duration; or (ii) BE/B.Tech or equivalent degree in engineering studied by an applicant

Instructions to Candidates Appearing for the Test

Candidates have to report at the exam hall in the allotted test center with Admit Card by 08.30 am on 29th May 2017 (Sunday)
Candidates have to bring their own black or blue ink ball point pen for filling bubbles and particulars on the OMR Sheet
Candidates are advised to completely fill the bubble corresponding to correct answer for each question. Calculators, mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets are NOT allowed in to the exam hall

NIMCET 2017 Exam Pattern

NIMCET-2017 test will be conducted with only one question paper containing 120 multiple-choice questions covering the following subjects. Multiple Choice Questions will be written in English
Language only and will not be translated into any other language
1. Mathematics 50 questions
2. Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning 40 questions
3. Computer Awareness 10 questions
4. General English 20 questions

The duration of NIMCET-2017 exam is 2 hours and Question Paper will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions with four choices for each question
Each correctly answered question will carry four marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to Negative one mark
All rough work is to be done in the Test Booklet only. The candidate should not do any rough work or put any stray marks on the OMR Sheet

Agartala, Allhabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Hamipur, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Patna, Raipur, Roukela, Silchar, Srinagar, Surat, Surathkal, Tiruchirappali, Warangal, Kolkata and Delhi
Note: This is tentative list of test centers. If enough number of candidates do not opt for a particular centre that centre may be cancelled and then center chosen as second choice will be allotted automatically

How to Apply for NIMCET-2017?

Candidates should apply for NIMCET-2017 through Online only. Candidates must follow instructions strictly as given in the website http://nimcet2017.nitdgp.ac.in
Applications not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified

Candidates should pay the non-refundable processing fee (Rs.2000/- for Open/OBC and Rs.1000/- for SC/ST) through SBI-I collect and NIMCET-2017 only before final submission of the online application form through the URL http://nimcet2017.nitdgp.ac.in website

No other means of Collection of Application fees will be entertained
Candidates should register on NIMCET-2017 website with login, password and then fill all the details as per the instruction in the Online Application Form

After successful filling of information on online and pressing submit button, a complete application form with unique application number will be generated

Candidate must quote this unique application number in future correspondences till the admission process is completed

Candidates are required to take printout of the generated application form and send it with payment -receipt and other relevant documents “The Secretary, NIMCET-2017, National Institute of
Technology, M.G Avenue, Durgapur-713209" by Speed Post/ Registered Post so as to reach on or before 18th April 2017

The application forms, received after the last date 18th April 2017 (even though the application is successfully uploaded), the applications without supporting documents and payment-receipt will be summarily rejected

Admit Card for NIMCET-2017

Admit cards will not be sent to the candidates individually by post. Eligible candidates can download their own Admit Cards
In case the Admit Card is not available for downloading, the candidates should send an Email to [email protected] between 16th to 26th May 2017 giving details of the candidate’s application number and proof for remittance of fee
Telephone enquiries will not be entertained

Second Round of Remote Reporting in person (fresh allotees and allotees whose seats are upgraded, but need to modify after their option): 06th and 07th July 2017

Third Round of Allotment/Upgradation 11th July 2017
