Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) notifies ICAR Agricultural Scientists National Eligibility Test (NET) 2019

ICAR NET 2019 – The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) has released the notification for the ICAR-National Eligibility Test (NET) 2019 on its official website at ntaicar.nic.in on 14th October 2019.

ICAR NET-2019 Details

  1. The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) will hold ICAR-NET-2019 Examination during 09th December 2019 to 15th December 2019 (tentatively) in online mode at 32 Centres across India in a staggered slot-wise exam format as per the Rules and Scheme of Exam indicated in this notification
  2. Online registration for the examination shall start from 11.00 hrs on 15th October 2019 till 17.00 hrs on 04th November 2019. Candidates are advised to read the notification carefully before filling the Online Application Form

Eligibility Criteria for ICAR NET 2019

  1. The rules for the National Eligibility Test Examination to be held by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board are published for general information

 

Nationality

  1. A candidate must be either: (i) a citizen of India, or (ii) a citizen of Nepal, or (iii) a citizen of Bhutan, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India (or)
  2. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by Govt. of India

 

Age Limits

  1. A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years as on 01st July 2019. There is no upper age limit for the National Eligibility Test

Educational Qualifications

  1. A candidate for the National Eligibility Test must have a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned subject with specialization completed on or before 31st December 2019 from any Indian University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed university u/s 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 or he/she must have a qualification from a foreign university recognized as equivalent by Govt. of India

ICAR NET Exam Pattern

  1. There will be one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions to be solved in 2 (two) hours. Each question carries one mark. These 150 questions shall be derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear.
  2. Minimum marks required for qualifying ICAR NET-2019; General/OBC 55%; OBC (Non-Creamy) 50%; SC/ST/PC 45%
  3. 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in the ICAR-NET-2019 examination
  4. The Exam will be conducted in online mode at the designated Centres only. The questions in the ICAR-NET (II) Examination will be available in bilingual from (i.e. Hindi and English medium of the Computer)

Number of Attempts

  1. There is no restriction on number of attempts for appearing in the National Eligibility Test. The date of declared of result of NET Examination will be the date of qualifying NET Examination
  2. The decision of the Board as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate for admission to the examination shall be final

 

Fee & Registration Charges

  1. The candidates seeking admission to NET examination must pay a fee to the board
  2. The candidates seeking admission to the examination must pay to the Board a fee as follows:
  3. Unreserved (UR) – Rs.1000/-
  4. Other Backward Class (OBC) – Rs.500/-
  5. SC/ST & Divyang/Women – Rs.250/-
  6. The fee must be paid through a crossed bank draft only drawn in favour of Secretary, ASRB and payable at New Delhi with the application form. Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of the bank draft
  7. No other form of payment will be accepted by the board

  1. A candidates seeking admission to the Examination must apply online in the prescribed Application Form available on the website http://www.asrb.org.in
  2. Important instructions to the candidates for filling online application are given in Annexure-I
  3. A candidate must read the provisions, contained in this Notification for ICAR-NET-2019 Examination carefully date abide by the same. A candidate must fulfil all the conditions of eligibility regarding age limit, educational qualifications, etc. prescribed for admission to the examination

 

Instructions to Apply

  1. Open the official website of the ICAR – icar.org.in and click on the notification link available on the homepage
  2. It will redirect to a new window where you will find links for the exam notification and registration
  3. Click on ICAR NET 2019 Exam registration link
  4. Click on New Registration (Login if you have registered already) and enter your personal information, qualification details, upload photograph & signature, and make the fee payment.
  5. After completing the registration process, download a copy of the filled application form and also take a print out of the same for future reference
