ICAR Agricultural Scientists National Eligibility Test NET (II) 2018

ICAR NET 2018 Notification - ICAR has released the official notification for the conduct of the ICAR-National Eligibility Test (NET-II) - 2018 on 24th October 2018. Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board will conduct the Exam on 27th December 2018, to 31st December 2018.

As per the official notification, the last date to apply for the same is 29th November 2018. The students who want to apply for the ICAR NET II 2018 can visit the official website at www.asrb.org.in

ICAR NET-II -2018 Details

  • The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) will hold ICAR-NET (II)-2018 Examination during 27th December 2018 to 31st December 2018 (which may be extended to January 2019 depending on the number of candidates) in online mode at 34 Centres across India is a staggered slot-wise exam format as per the Rules & Scheme of Exam indicated in this notification.
  • Candidates are advised to read the notification carefully before filling the online application form

 

National Eligibility Test (NET)

  • National Eligibility Test (NET) is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for the position of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs)
  • Candidates clearing the National Eligibility Test will be eligible to apply for the post of Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/AUs.

ICAR NET Exam Date 2018

  • ICAR has released the official notification 24th October 2018
  • The Registration for ICAR NET (II) 2018 will start from 09th November 2018
  • Payment can be made through Debit Card/Credit Card/NET Banking from 09th November till 29th November 2018
  • Last Date to Apply for the same is 29th November 2018
  • ICAR NET (II) Exam will be held between 27th - 31st December 2018 in online mode at 34 centres

 

ICAR NET 2018 Application Form

  • A candidate seeking admission to the Examination must apply online the prescribed Application Form available on the website www.asrb.org.in and www.icar.org.in
  • Important Instruction to the candidates for filling online application are given in Annexure-I. A candidate must read the provisions, contained in this Notification for ICAR-NET (II) 2018 Examination carefully and abided by the same
  • The application form should be filled up by the candidate in his/her own handwriting only
  • A candidate must fulfill all the conditions of eligibility regarding age limits, educational qualifications etc prescribed for admission to the examination. The candidates are not required to attach the copies of the documents/certificates in support of their candidature. The envelopes containing the application form should be super scribed in bold letters as application for ICAR NET II 2018
  • The completed application form must reach the Secretary, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-I, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 by post or delivered in person
  • All the information related to the examination will be uploaded /updated on this website only. No other form of communication will be used for issue of admission certificate

 

Eligibility Criteria for ICAR NET 2018

  • The rules for the National Eligibility Test (II) - 2018 Examination to be held by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board are published for general information

 

Nationality

  • A candidate must be either: (i) a citizen of India, or (ii) a citizen of Nepal, or (iii) a citizen of Bhutan, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India (or)
  • Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt. of India

 

Age Limits

  • A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years as on 01st July 2018. There is no upper age limit for the National Eligibility Test

 

Educational Qualifications

  • A candidate for the National Eligibility Test must have a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned subject with specialization completed on or before 31st December 2018 from any Indian University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed university u/s 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 or he/she must have qualification from a foreign university recognized as equivalent by the Govt. of India

ICAR NET Exam Pattern

  • There will one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions to be solved in 2 (two) hours. Each question carries one mark. These 150 questions shall be derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear.
  • Minimum marks required for qualifying ICAR NET-(II)-2018; General/OBC 55%; OBC (Non-Creamy) 50%; SC/ST/PC 45%
  • 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in the ICAR-NET-(II)-2018 examination
  • The Exam will be conducted in online mode at the designated Centres only. The questions in the ICAR-NET (II) Examination will be available in bilingual from (i.e. Hindi and English medium of the Computer)

Number of Attempts

  • There is no restriction on number of attempts for appearing in the National Eligibility Test. The date of declared of result of NET Examination will be the date of qualifying NET Examination
  • The decision of the Board as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate for admission to the examination shall be final

 

Fee & Registration Charges

  • The candidates seeking admission to NET examination must pay a fee to the board
  • The candidates seeking admission to the examination must pay to the Board a fee as follows:
  • Unreserved (UR) - Rs.1000/-
  • Other Backward Class (OBC) - Rs.500/-
  • SC/ST & Divyang/Women - Rs.250/-
  • The fee must be paid through a crossed bank draft only drawn in favour of Secretary, ASRB and payable at New Delhi with the application form. Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of the bank draft
  • No other form of payment will be accepted by the board
