Sikkim Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) 2020 Notification

Education Department, Sikkim will be conducting Sikkim Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2020 for selection of candidates for the post of Primary Teacher for Classes I to V and Elementary (Graduate) Teacher for Classes VI to VIII. The online application form will be available from March 4 to 11, 2020 and a hard copy of the online application can be submitted on or before March 19, 2020. Sikkim Teacher Eligibility Test

STET (Sikkim Teacher Eligibility Test) will be conducted once a year.

A person who has qualified STET may also appear again for improving his/her score in the following years.

All candidates who pass the STET will be awarded a certificate. The validity of the certificate will be till he/she crosses the employability age as per the State Government norms. However, it does not cover the special exemption of higher age given to the temporary in-service employees.

A Candidate who scores 60% or more in TET will be considered TET pass. 5% relaxation of marks is applicable to SC/ST, Central & State OBC candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for Sikkim TET 2020

Minimum Essential Qualification

The candidate having the following minimum Educational Qualification are eligible for appearing in STET.

Minimum Educational Qualification for becoming Primary Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage):

i.

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST,OBC(Central),OBC(State) and passed or appearing* in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education ( D. El. Ed).

ii.

Senior Secondary ( or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC(Central), OBC(State) and passed in final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).

iii.

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC(Central), OBC(State) and passed or appearing* in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Minimum Qualification for becoming Graduate Teacher for classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):

i.

B.A./B.Sc./ with 50% marks , for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST,OBC(Central),OBC (State)and passed or appearing* in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.).

ii.

B.A./B.Sc./ with 50 % marks , for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST, OBC(Central),OBC(State) and passed or appearing* in the final year 2 year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.).

iii.

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks, for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST,OBC(Central),OBC (State) and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

iv.

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks ,for unreserved candidates and 45 % in case of SC, ST,OBC(Central),OBC (State)and passed or appearing* in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

Sikkim TET 2020 Application Process

Application for STET will be only through online form.

The online form will be available at www.sikkimhrdd.org from 04th March 2020 to 11th March 2020.

Candidates should start filling the Online form only after paying the Exam Fee, as the Payment has to be filled in the form. Fee once paid will not be refunded
