SINGULAR NOUN DEFINITION
A singular noun names one person, place, thing, or idea.
(एकवचन) जब हम किसी एक व्यक्ति, वास्तु की बात करते हैं

PLURAL NOUN DEFINITION
A plural noun names more than one person, place, thing or idea.
(बहुवचन) जब हम दो या दो से अधिक व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं की बात करते हैं

RULES FOR CONVERTING SINGULAR TO PLURAL NOUNS
Regular Plurals
Rule 1. Add ‘s’ at the end of a singular noun to make it plural.
एकवचन संज्ञा शब्द के अंत में ‘s ‘ जोड़ कर बहुवचन बनाएँ

Rule 2. Singular nouns ending in ‘s’, ‘ss’, ‘sh’, ‘ch’, ‘x’, ‘o’ or ‘z’ need an ‘es’ at the end to become plural.
‘s’, ‘ss’, ‘sh’, ‘ch’, ‘x’, ‘o’ या ‘z’ अंत से हटाकर ‘es’ लगाकर बहुवचन बनाएँ

Irregular Plurals
Rule 1. Some nouns are the same in both their singular and plural forms.
कई संज्ञा शब्दों का एकवचन और बहुवचन रूप एक ही रहता है

Rule 2. Some nouns ending in ‘f‘ or ‘fe’ require that you change the ‘f’ to a ‘v’ and then add an ‘es’ at the end to make them plural.
अंत से ‘f‘ या ‘fe’ हटा कर ‘ves’ जोड़ कर बहुवचन बनाएँ

Exceptions to Rule 2.
The following are some exceptions to the above mentioned rule

Rule 3. Nouns that end in ‘y‘ preceded by a consonant require that you change the ‘y’ to an ‘i’, and then add an ‘es’ at the end to make them plural.
अगर संज्ञा शब्द के अंत में ‘y’ आए और उससे पहले व्यंजन आए , तो ‘y’ हटाकर ‘ies’ जोड़ कर बहुवचन रूप बनाएँ

Rule 4. Nouns that end in ‘y’ preceded by a vowel require that you add ‘s’ at the end to make them plural.

Rule 5. In a hyphenated compound word, you must change the first word into plural form.
हायफ़न युक्त योगिक शब्द में पहले शब्द को बहुवचन में बदलकर बहुवचन रूप बनाएँ

Rule 6. Some singular nouns change into new words in the plural form.

Rule 7. Nouns that end in ‘ex’ require that you replace ‘ex’ with ‘ices’ at the end to make them plural.
‘ex’ से अंत होने वाले शब्द के अंत से ‘ex ‘ हटाकर ‘ies’ जोड़कर बहुवचन बनाएँ
