Benefits of yoga for the physical body are – the asanas promote endurance, flexibility, increased strength. It helps get rid of excessive body fat, regulates blood pressure, improves the movement of blood in the body and boosts the body’s defense against the onset of diseases. For the mind – the breathing exercises calm the mind, reduce stress and anxiety. The meditation practise helps in controlling the mind and getting rid of distractions.
Anyone can practise yoga at anytime of the day. While performing yoga asanas one must be mindful. The breathing has to be in sync with the asanas to make it effective.
The World Health Organization (WHO) launched an app – WHOmYoga on 20 June 2021. The app provides free videos and audios to people across the world. The aim is to provide access to this knowledge to everyone.

कोई भी व्यक्ति दिन के किसी भी समय योग का अभ्यास कर सकता है। योग आसन करते समय व्यक्ति को सावधान रहना चाहिए। इसे प्रभावी बनाने के लिए सांसों का आसनों के साथ तालमेल होना ज़रूरी है। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) ने 20 जून 2021 को WHOmYoga ऐप लॉन्च किया। यह ऐप दुनिया भर के लोगों को मुफ़्त वीडियो और ऑडियो उपलब्ध कराता है। इसका उद्देश्य सभी को इस ज्ञान तक पहुँच प्रदान करना है।
