WBJEE 2022 – West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) invites online applications for West Bengal Joint Entrance Exams (WBJEE) 2022 for admission into Undergraduate Courses of Engineering & Technology /Pharmacy /Architecture in various institutions of West Bengal for the academic year 2022-23

WBJEE 2022 Dates

  • Online Application Starting Date: 21st December 2021
  • Last date of application: 07th January 2022
  • Form Correction Start Date: 08th January 2022
  • Form Correction End Date: 10th January 2022
  • Release date of the admit card: 15th April 2022
  • Exam Date of WBJEE: 23rd April 2022
  • Result Declaration: 04th week of May 2022

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2022

  • Eligibility criteria of WBJEE 2022 include the restriction on nationality, age, educational qualification, and domicile.

Nationality

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit

  • A candidate must be at least 17 years of age (as on December 31, 2022) to appear for the exam. This means an aspirant should have been born on or before December 31, 2004. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the WBJEE 2022
  • However, for admission to the Marine Engineering Course, the lower age limit is 17 years as on December 31, 2022 and the upper age limit is 25 years as on December 31, 2022.

Educational Qualification

For Engineering Courses

  • Passed the Qualifying Exam i.e. the ‘10+2’ Exam with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application/Technical Vocational Subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
  • Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category e.g. SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ Exam with at least 30% marks.

For Pharmacy Courses

  • Passed ‘10+2’ Exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
  • Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category e.g. SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ Exam with at least 30% marks.

Five Year Degree Course in Architecture 

  • Candidates must qualify either in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the COA (Council of Architecture) or in the Paper-II of JEE-Main, 2022 conducted by the CBSE Board.

Important consideration in terms of academic qualification:

  • A candidate appearing in the Qualifying Exam i.e. the ‘10+2’ Exam in 2022 may sit in the WBJEE-2022 but shall not be eligible for allotment of seat for admission if he/she does not pass the Qualifying Exam with the required minimum eligibility criteria.

Course Specific Eligibility Criteria

  • Course in Marine Engineering – As per the norms and standards of the Director General of Shipping, Government of India
  • Pass Higher Secondary (10+2) Exam of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent exam from a recognized Council/Board in regular class mode with:
  • 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together with individual pass marks (both in theory and practical wherever applicable) in each of the said subjects; Minimum of 50% marks in English as a subject either in ‘10’ standard or in ‘10+2’ standard. These requirements are applicable for the Marine Engineering Course in any of the participating Institutions
  • Five Year Degree Course in Architecture: As per the norms and standards of the Council of Architecture (COA):
  • No candidate with less than 50% marks in aggregate shall be admitted to the architecture course unless he/she has passed an Exam at the end of the new ‘10+2’ scheme of Senior School Certificate Exam or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject of Exam at the 10+2 level.

 

WBJEE 2022 Application Process

  • Eligible candidates can apply online only through official website https://wbjeeb.nic.in/
  • Application for the WBJEE-2022 has to be made online only through the web- portal www.wbjeeb.in.

Instructions to follow for Applying Online

  • Candidates need to visit the portal and click the requisite link Online Application WBJEE-2022 and thereafter will be directed to the actual application form; the form is interactive in nature and the fields required to be filled up are categorized in different sub-sections.
  • Application form is broadly categorized into three steps: filling of Personal Details; Document Uploading and Fee Payment
  • Candidates need to fill in the first part i.e. Personal Details and will thereafter be directed to document uploading; once the documents are successfully uploaded, the system enters into the fee payment
  • Finally, the candidate may take a printout of Confirmation Page Generated upon successful Fee Payment for his or her own record; there is no need to send any document by post

 

Application Fee

  • Application Fee – Rs. 700/-
  • Mode of Payment – Through online Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking or through the challan of Allahabad Bank

WBJEE Admit Card 2022

  • Admit cards will be generated on the notified date for the student to download and take a print. Candidates must carry a printed hard copy of the admit card to the Exam centre.
  • Candidates must ensure that the admit card is not mutilated/ distorted/ soiled even by accident. Candidates with such mutilated/ distorted/ soiled admit cards will not be allowed to appear in the Exam.

 

WBJEE Exam Pattern 2022

  • It is the Common Entrance Exam in offline mode (paper based Exam) for admission to different Degree Level Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Govt. Colleges as well as Self Financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the State of West Bengal. There will be 2 papers in WBJEE- Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry).
  • Mode of Exam: Offline mode (pen paper-based)
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Medium of Exam: English
  • Types of Questions: Multiple Choice Question (MCQ)
  • No. of Questions: 155 Questions
  • Total Marks: 200 Marks (100+100)
  • Papers: 2 papers in WBJEE – Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry)
  • Marking Scheme: There is negative marking and hence for an incorrect answer, -1/2 marks will be deducted (25% negative marks)
  • Test Centre: Kolkata only
