Government of Assam, Department of Education (Elementary) announces Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2021 for Lower and Upper Primary Level

Assam TET 2021 – Department of Education (Elementary), Government of Assam invites applications for the Teacher Eligibility Test 2021 for Lower Primary and Upper Primary Level for the state of Assam. The candidates having permanent residence in the state of Assam can apply through online mode till  25th September 2021.

Assam TET 2021 Important Dates

  • Starting date of submission of online application: 15th September 2021
  • Last date of submission of online application: 25th September 2021
  • Issue of TET Admit Card: 10th October 2021
  • Date of TET Examination 2021: 24th October 2021

Eligibility Criteria for Assam TET 2021

  • Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam. Candidate must have a minimum academic and professional qualification as per NCTE norms as follows:

Minimum Qualification

For Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V)

  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary
  • Education (by whatever name known) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.E1.Ed) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR Graduation and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed obtained from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I to V

For appearing in Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII)

  • Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR At least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post Graduation and B. Ed OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed)
  • OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./8. Sc. Ed. Or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed. OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed.(Special Education)

Minimum Marks to Qualify in TET

  • A candidate is required to score 60 % i.e. 90 marks out of 150 to qualify the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET)
  • However, for SC/ST (Hills)/ST (Plain)/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH), there will be relaxation of 5 %. Thus, for these candidates, qualifying marks will be 83 out of 150 i.e. 55 %

Relaxation

  • Relaxation up to 5 % in the academic marks in HSSLC or Graduation shall be applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD(PH) to appear in TET (candidates should be minimum 40% and to be certified by the competent authority) both for Paper-| (LP Level) and Paper-II (UP Level)
  • For Paper-I (LP Level) relaxation up to 5 % in HSSLC marks shall be applicable for candidates who were admitted in 2- Year D.EI.Ed before 31/08/2009 as per NCTE Notification 
  • For Paper-II (UP Level) relaxation up to 5 % in Graduation marks shall be applicable for candidates who were admitted in 1-Year B.Ed. before 31/08/2009 as per NCTE Notification

Assam TET 2021 Application Process

  • Log-in-through the website https://ssa.assam.gov.in or https://sebonline.org
  • Applicants should have a valid Email Id.
  • Before filling Online Application Form Download the advertisement and read the same carefully. Candidates ascertain the eligibility before filling the application form and paying fees
  • The fee is Non-Refundable and Non-Adjustable.
  • Please note that if a candidate commits any mistake in filling the online Application Form, it cannot be corrected by this office. The Office will take no responsibility of any kind for such forms.

Application Fee

  • Fees (for paper 1 or 2) for both papers 1 and 2)
  • General Category-I – Paper-I INR 325 and Paper-II – INR 650/-
  • SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD – Paper-I – INR 300 and Paper-II – INR 600/-

Selection Process

  • Candidates will need to qualify for the written exam for the final selection of Assam Special TET 2021

Assam TET 2021 Exam Pattern

For Paper 1 (for Class I to IV)

  • Child Development & Pedagogy (Compulsory) – 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Language I – Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, Manipuri, Garo, Karbi, Hmar – 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Language ll – English (Compulsory) – 30 MCQs & 30 Marks 
  • Mathematics (Compulsory) – 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Environmental Studies (Compulsory) – 30 MCQs & 30 Marks

For Paper 2 (For Class VI to VII)

  • Child Development & Pedagogy (Compulsory) – 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Language I – Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, Manipuri, Garo, Karbi, Hmar – 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Language ll – English (Compulsory) – 30 MCQs & 30 Marks
  • Duration of Exam: 2.5 hours (150 Minutes)
  • Medium of Question Paper: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Hindi, English
