However, the Vice-Chancellor has the discretionary power to nominate a research committee to decide the equivalence (Interdisciplinary Degree) of a degree for the admission to any PhD Program.

Selection Procedure
- The Scholars who cleared the entrance test will be admitted for PhD. based on the merit and the roster system as followed by the Tamil Nadu Government and which is in force.
- The candidates who have cleared NET/SLET are expected to appear for the entrance test.
- However, they should score 50% of marks in certificate verification and personal Interview.
- The Scholars will appear for the entrance examination afresh if not selected in a particular year.
Entrance Test
- Part I: General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude (50 Objective Type Questions) (Syllabus: Annexure-II): 50 Marks
- Part II: Paper on Concerned Subject (50 Objective Type Questions): 50 Marks
- Interview: 25 Marks
- P.G. Degree: 25 Marks
- Total Marks: 150

Application Procedure
- Application for the PhD. program can be downloaded from our University website. Application will be available in www.tnpesu.org
- The registration cost of Rs. 750/- pay in favour of the “The Registrar, Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, Chennai-600127” should be paid through DD along with the filled application for the PhD. program.

- An Application one submitted cannot be changed/rectified. Application fee payment will not be refunded.
