SPA New Delhi Admission 2024 – School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Delhi invites applications for admission to various UG, PG and Doctoral (PhD) Programs for the academic year 2024.
About SPA Delhi
- The School of Planning and Architecture had a modest beginning in 1941 as a Department of Architecture of Delhi Polytechnic. It was later affiliated to the University of Delhi and integrated with the School of Town and Country Planning which was established in 1955 by the Government of India to provide facilities for rural, urban and regional planning. On integration, the School was renamed as School of Planning and Architecture in 1959. The School is a specialized University, only one of its kind, which exclusively provides training at various levels, in different aspects of human habitat and environment. The School has taken lead in introducing academic programmes in specialized fields both at Bachelor’s and Master’s level, some of which are even today not available elsewhere in India

Eligibility Criteria
Master’s Programmes
- Master of Architecture (Architectural Conservation & Urban Design): Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Planning from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Master of Design (Industrial Design): Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture of a recognized university or equivalent or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Design/Fine Arts of a recognized university or equivalent with valid CEED score (essential for non-architectural candidates) from approved streams.
- Master of Building Engineering & Management: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Building Engineering or Architecture or Architectural Engineering or Four Year Building Science or Five Year Diploma in Construction Technology or equivalent from a recognized university/institution established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature.
- Master of Architecture (Landscape Architecture): Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture or Planning or Master’s Degree in Planning or equivalent post-Graduate diploma of a recognized university/institution or certificate of completion of Pre-Landscape Architecture Course of the SPA, New Delhi.
- Master of Planning (Environmental Planning): Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering or Environmental Engineering or Master’s Degree in Geography or Economics or Sociology or Environmental Science or Environmental Management of a recognized university or equivalent.
- Master of Planning (Housing): Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering or Municipal Engineering or Building Engineering or M.A. in Sociology or Economics from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Master of Planning (Regional Planning & Urban Planning): Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering or M.A. Geography, Economics, or Sociology from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Master of Planning (Transport Planning): Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent or Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Operational Research/ Economics from a recognized university or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Programmes
- Admission to Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning will be made through JEE (Main) 2024 by NTA (National Testing Agency).
FN/NRI/PIO/OCI (Bachelor’s Programmes)
- Admission of Foreign National/Non Resident Indian and Person of Indian Origin is made through DASA. Candidates desirous for admission in Bachelor’s Programme may visit DASA website.
- As per COA guidelines, students admitted under B.Arch. Course without clearing COA approved aptitude test in Architecture will not be eligible for Registration with COA.
PhD Programs
- Master’s Degree in related disciplines or equivalent.
Application Process
- Eligible candidates may submit filled in Application online through link provided on School’s website www.spa.ac.in, along with requisite self-attested documents to be uploaded on the form.
- Applicant can apply in multiple program of his/her choice subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria of that program.
Application Fee
- For Indian Nationals: Rs.2500/- (Non-refundable)
- For Foreign National/NRI/PIO/OCI: US$ 300 (Non-Refundable)
- Modes of Payment: through Online mode
Selection Process
- The candidates are required to appear before the Selection Committee for Admission for Interview in person (Offline Mode Only).
- Based on the performance in the interview, performance in the above mentioned criteria, merit list of the selected candidates will be uploaded on the SPA, New Delhi website.
PG Scholarships
- The scholarships to GATE and CEED (applicable only for Industrial Design course) qualified candidates will be paid to those who have a valid Score Card.
