For M.Tech Programs
- a) Programs at RGIPT Jais
- M.Tech. in Petroleum Eng with specialization in a) Drilling Eng or b) Production Eng or c) Reservoir Eng.: B. Tech. or an equivalent degree in Petroleum Engg./Petroleum Technology/Chemical Engineering and allied areas with a valid GATE score in Petroleum Engineering/Chemical Engineering.
- M. Tech. in Chemical Eng with specialization in a) Polymer & petrochemical Engineering, or b) Energy Eng.: B. Tech. or an equivalent degree in Chemical Engg. or Bio-Chemical Engg. /Electrochemical Engg. /Energy Engg. /Environmental Engg. /Petrochemical Engg./Chemical Technology/Oil Technology with a valid GATE score in Chemical Engineering
- b) Programs at EIB
- Renewable Energy: B.E. /B. Tech. in any branch of Engineering. *Qualified in GATE in respective disciplines.
- Electric Vehicle Technology: B.E. /B. For PhD Program
- Applicants with Master’s degree in engineering in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline/area must have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Master’s degree level.
- Applicants with Bachelor’s degree in engineering in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline/area must have a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Bachelor’s degree level. Applicants with more than two years of professional experience, the minimum requirement shall be 70% marks or 7.0 CPI (on 10 point scale) at Bachelor degree provided the degree is from an Institution funded by the Central Government.
- A minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Master’s degree level,
- A minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Bachelor’s degree level.
PhD in Sciences
- Applicants with Master’s degree in science in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline/area must have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Master’s degree level.
- Applicants with a four year Bachelor’s degree in Science in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline/area must have a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Bachelor’s degree level. Applicants with more than two years of professional experience, the minimum requirement shall be 70% marks or 7.0 CPI (on 10 point scale) at Bachelor degree provided the degree is from an Institution funded by the Central Government.
Ph D in Humanities
- Applicants with Master’s degree in engineering with a minimum CPI of 6.00 on a 10.0 point scale (or 60% marks) in the qualifying degree.
- Applicants with Master’s degree in humanities/sciences or allied subjects with a minimum CPI of 6.00 on a 10.0 point scale (or 60% marks) in the qualifying degree.
PhD in Management Studies
- Applicants with Master’s degree or equivalent in the management or in an allied discipline/area must have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Master’s degree level.
- Applicants with Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or in an allied discipline/area must have a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Bachelor’s degree level. Applicants with more than two years of professional experience, the minimum requirement shall be 70% marks or 7.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at Bachelor degree provided the degree is from an Institution funded by the Central Government.

- Admission Form should be submitted online before the last date as specified under Important Dates.
- Candidates are advised to keep the testimonials, certificates, work experience, research/professional experience etc. ready before beginning the process of filling the online application form.
Application Fee
- For GEN and OBC : 500/- (Five hundred only)
- For SC, ST and PwD: 250/- (Two hundred fifty only)
Selection Process
For M.Tech
- For Full Time Regular Registration Category, candidates shortlisted on the basis of GATE Score which is valid and above the qualifying pass mark, may be selected for M. Tech. programmes either on the basis of their GATE score or written test or interview or on the basis of any combination of these as declared by the individual department.
- The Non-GATE candidates have to qualify the written test and the Interview for selection into M. Tech. programmes at EIB Centre.
- For admission under other categories, candidates are exempted from appearing in the written test.
For PhD
- Admission will be based on a written test and interview of the candidates shortlisted by the Department/School concerned.
